Trivial solo as a rather underequipped 48 DRG/BLU. Fluid spread was the only source of significant damage (doing roughly 230 when unresisted) but I never even got close to the 1/3 HP threshold for wyvern healing.
I found a "mirror pond" in Beaucidine on my way to do Shiva.. I'll check it again after I drop this NM to see if it works, as it had the same animation and /check message as the pond in Jugner Forest.
Just fought this as a 50SMN/25WHM used ifrit with astral flow(had it available and knew i wasn't going to use it again soon) did 849dmg, killed. My npc was level 37 using hand-to-hand, so she was only hitting for about 16 a pair. So magic makes this battle easy, i'm guessing a smn could beat this at level 40 with an astral flow, and most other mages around 45-50, melee maybe a bit higher, my guess is around 52+ if your NPC is 37ish.
Very easy. Don't be afraid to fight it, this guy's a wimp. First off, after CS your NPc will automatically pop. Next, this guy has very low magic resistance. I dropped him with a Holy, Banish 3, and a few hits between me and my NPC. Talk to your NPC after fight and click on the ??? for the key item.
Well I was running around Korroloka Tunnel and just checked the ??? not expecting anything to happen and then I got a CS with my NPC. Luto told me that I would get my vitrallum from Ordelle's Caves but after we defeated this thing I talked to my NPC and he mentioned the Vitrallum and after checking again I received the Vitrallum. So I dont know what's going on, I haven't gone to Luto to verify if it's the correct Vitrallum yet but I'll see soon.
Luto told me to go to Ordellos so that's where I went. To find the spawn point go in the main entrance, but go right like you're heading for the Paladin quest, down the spiral staircase. On the 2nd map at I-5 is the spawn point. The Metallic Slime was a pushover. I'd say it's level is equal to Stroper Chymes'. Soloed it easily as 58Drk.
Ok, I originally posted this info under the "Past Reflections" quest, but now that Alla has this mob up, it'll probably be more helpful here. Eventually after speaking with Luto, you will receive a cutscene in which she finds information on how to repair the broken mirror. In order to do this, she needs some Vitrallum that can be found on a "rare slime" in Korroloka Tunnel. Once in the Tunnel, head to the area near the Western Atelpa Dessert zone that's just infested with Bogys (the same area you go to for the NIN quest). Here you will find a ??? at the point where F-9/10 and G-9/10 all intersect. There are 2 ???s in this area, and the one you are looking for is on the western side of the ditch. When you target the ???, you will get a cutscene where your NPC shows up. After the scene, Metallic Slime appears and begins attacking. I did this as a lvl 62 RDM and he was a pushover, hitting me once physically and once with Fluid Toss. After beating him down, check the ??? to receive your Key Item: Vitrallum. When you return to Luto with this, she will then ask you to find some water from a "spring with a surface as smooth as glass." After searching nearly everywhere that has a spring, lake, or any other body of water, Techno from Phoenix posted that the body of water needed for the quest is Lake Mechieume in Jugner Forest. In order to find the ???, you must travel through King Ranperre's Tomb and exit to the Forest. Now on the north side of the Lake, which is inaccessable by any means other than throught the Tomb, you will find the ??? near H-5 and be treated to another cutscene. When the cutscene ends, so does the quest, and you are rewarded with the bond between you and your NPC strengthening.
This is probably the first new quest I've done without having some sort of guidance from Alla, and probably couldn't have done it without Techno's help. Thanks again and good luck everyone.
God, I remember these. Very random pop, and I don't think they attack, but they have super high evasion. However, they give you nice exp if you kill one.
Think you fight them in the area where the sketons and shield knights are, but it's been a long time since I played Dragon Warrior. >>
Most of the time they run, but they did occasionally attack by casting HURT. Pretty much the only way to hurt one before it ran off was to have the Erdrick Sword.
1) It's located on the map with all the Bogies and the ??? for the NIN flag quest, to the west of the bridge.
2) Extremely easy. My NPC was about level 42-44 (somewhere around there) when I did this quest, and I came as a 61THF. I barely managed to get 100 TP before it died.
It's an NM that is spawned during an NPC quest called Blighted Gloom. It doesn't drop anything at all, not even the things listed above (which are just items that are linked to all mobs of the slime family).
