K, me and my rmd friend Evilion were going to go duo this thing . . . but he's a taru and I'm a hume and you can't get passed the doors with that. So we brought along another friend who said "yeah I'll even have titan tank it." Well that was the first thing that didn't happen. We still won.
I got every buff they could give, Seigen and Third-eye. Popped the mob. I immediately unleashed a full 300% Vorpal Thrust on it and smacked it for about 700 dmg. A following penta only did 500. I just kept up Third Eye and Seigen and jumped and meditated as soon as the timers were up. The SMN did his thing and hit it with everything he could sans Astral Flow (which isn't that great at his level). The RDM could not silence it. Resisted every time. However, Paralyze II and some other merits and tricks worked wonders and really helped. Along with EVA+ Gear and it not having that high of an acc to begin with, I never was in any danger. I usually held my WS for a GA and unleashed it. The single targets I wasn't so worried about as I could get a CURE IV a second later and it'd fix everything. I never lost hate after about my second or third WS (titan's special was doing 900 to it). Otherwise, it was an easy fight. We could have done it w/o the SMN but needed him to get in. And he did help out with buffs and made things go more smoothly. All in all, it was very, very easy. The spells hit me at most for 500 from 1200 HP.

Went in 71 sam (me) 63 pld 72 nin 75 rdm 75 blm... true this nm is easier than the previous but still hard. Toasted me pretty fast after I solo'd light on him.

Just tried as sam/thf, whm/blm x2.... xD WTF was I thinking trusting this post. This thing is insanely tough. bring a party, no ifs , and or buts. It's got some real bad magic. [Take Care.}

i built tp up to 300% with meditate up,Yuki,2hour,meditate(with myochin kabuto and saotome kotes)Gekko, Kasha,Gekko, Kahsa, and by that time had gained tp and threw in another gekko when the silence effect wore off. by that time he was down to 35%...just kept uts. ni up and when that wore off i popped third eye, then uts. Ichi(no seigan cause it hurts the timer for uts.)Rdm just enfeebled/nuked/supported...he never drew hate off of me and i never even dipped into the yellow. It was a fun fight to duo. GL

lets assume you can't get a party for this and are only a 66war. is there anyway to despawn this so this can be soloed?

Yeah, just tried to do this solo as the same set up. This mob is insanely ridiculous to be easy. After two deaths and another would be fail I gave up on this thing. I'm not sure how you could possibly solo this as my jug pets are barely tougher then the EP scorps and worms (some scorps have a chance to spawn DC rarely at this lvl) in the adjacent room and tunnel towards the exit. The thing was hitting them for 250-300+ easily and has the ocassional Enstun effect. Neither type of pets could hold hate if you cast magic; pet swaps get hard as even clearing the nearby ants won't last long enough for you to take it down.

Apparantly throwing CC at this guy periodically while using scorps to stall is supposed to take this guy down, will reattempt as I didn't find funguar doing *Massive* damage but I'll try again as I didn't have any.

Tried duoing this with a RDM to refresh me as I didn't have much time to rest when CC was not in place. A CC lasted about 20 seconds but took slightly less damage than the pets (roughly 200 a hit) .. taking off barely any HP off the pot per use. I went through about 5 CC and 2 dozen scorps/worms bringing it down to about ~10% but in the end I ran out of pets to stall while CC's timer was recharging.
A note if you are attempting to solo this, try bringing some forth of MP drink as times can get rough, don't bother casting magic near it if your pet isn't CC neither, it just comes right you. Also try not to let your pets die, I lost 1 scorp and things went downhill when the pets couldnt' recover fast enough.
Got it done with some friends. Try it solo at your own risk as I still can't see it was too easy, might even help to go /NIN instead of WHM if you can maneuver around pet swapping things nearby.

What happened is the genius DRK decided to pop it right after WHM cast buffs (and was at around 100 MP). We put up a good fight despite being drained, and got it down to around 10% before we wiped. The WHM managed to zone, however. We then got to spend around half an hour playing the Raise game. The worm respawned during this and reset all of our work, and the WHM barely RR2'd successfully. By the time we got healthy, another group was there, so we formed an alliance and smashed the damned pot to pieces.
I'm really pissed at our DRK, though. We could've easily won it if he'd just let the WHM rest first.

Am i the only one that notices Pikko is the only one in the picture that has a shadow? *wants a video card like that*
Actually, everyone has a shadow, its just that the only real shoadow that is noticeable is your own. hence, pikko took this picture (GO GARUDA). and opeth is rich as hell >.>
Everyone can have 'noticeable' shadows if your settings are configured to do so. Gets kinda laggy in alliances (and in Jeuno) though, so most people set it to the halfway version you see in the picture.
can a SMNx2 both lvl 72 can just mountain buster this thing to death?
How difficult is this mob? Once I get ZM8 done, it will be the only thing between me and sky...
XD If you can defeat Kam'lanaut, this guy is cake. Really no problem at all. ^^

I heard their is a NM in quicksand caves that drops Dainslaif (sp) -- it's is a lvl 69 ex/rare swd that has HP drain. I have seen one or two PLD that use it.
You're thinking of Proconsul XII in Quicksands...
