Just to confirm these also aggro to sight in Crawlers Nest. I was in there as RDM50 looking for chest for AF Boots when my Invis dropped. I quickly slept it, then checked it... Very Tough. Not good at all since I was totally lost. The only choice was to take it out.
Sleep II, rest up, Gravity, Bind, Fire II. Rinse and repeat. After doing this for approx 10 minutes, it had about 20% health left. Then another Wespe popped its head around the corner, aggrod. I knew it was over for me. It resisted Sleep, Sleep II, Gravity & Bind. Me = one dead Red Mage.

The Wespes near the J-11 entrance to Temple of Uggalepih are slightly lower than 55-57. They check as Decent Challenge, low evasion (and defense on some) to me as a 55THF/27NIN. I've been soloing them for a little while now, trying to get a Larvae.

Just Curious if anyone has gotten a Coffer out of these? The more > 60 Mobs that Drop, the Better :)

I've only gotten chest keys from these guys, never coffer keys.

I think that these drop only chest keys, not coffers. it's listed as dropping one or the other in a few places, but they are the same lvl range as all the other chest key droppers and are about 10 lvl lower then the other coffer key mobs.

2000-3000hp, depending on level.
A lv60 THF can solo these easy. I had 189 evasion and 135 marksmanship, so bolts helped (especially combining DE with Acid bolts). Just be careful of Final Sting ;)

u can get them to drop when u have a thief in party.. make sure the thief use a normal melee attack not a weapon skill to kill it or it will not drop..just let theif kill it.. it will drop in the first 20 min trust me... im a lvl 66 thief
i see this al the time when i help people get there hornetdagger

This talk about letting the THF kill it using melee wont work its just rumor. Example me THF32 at the time 2 friends BLM35 and DRK 47 were in buburima peninsula me and the BLM had tried earlier for half an hour to get carbys ruby no luck then the DRK came and helped me and he killed 1 (yes 1) leech and i got my ruby so it is more based on luck than anything else id say.

"They agro by sight for Temple no sound cause I only had invis up (for the most part)."

They aggro to sight because you had invis up and they aggroed? Wouldn't that mean they aggro to sound, not sight? :P

Has anyone got the Larvae drop from the Wespes in Crawler's nest?

I just spent 6 hours straight in Uggalepih trying to get this stupid thing to drop a Bee Larva. Not a single drop. >.< We started with 50THF, 50THF, 62THF. Later one 50THF dropped and we picked up a 73BRD, and 60THF. So at no point did we have less than Treasure Hunter 2 coming from 3 different party members. And STILL no drop. >.<

The ones in Crawler's Nest aggro, and they are not the same bees that you see on your way to the sack room. These are downstairs in the NW tunnel from the sack room.

drops bee larva

rare/ex used to make Death From Above spawn.

same approximate drop rate as papyrus.

So I've been soloing these at the entrance to Temple of Ugg for 3 days straight as a 60 rdm. 19+ hours, 4 deaths and still no drop. This is rediculous. And I would say the drop rate is much worse than papyrus. I would say about the same level as carbuncles ruby. I know for a FACT that in a 10 hour period of time, not a single larvae dropped for either myself or 2 other rdms killing them in the entire zone. We were chatting with each other all at different camps killing them. That was roughly ~300 dead bees and no drops between the 3 of us. That's bad.

But just a warning to those fighting these. Final Sting is a *****. They have 3 TP attacks - Sharp Sting, Pollen and Final Sting.

Sharp Sting: is a joke. Don't even worry about it.

Pollen: can be a bother as they can cure themselves for 3 different amounts. ~200, ~400, and ~1000. It's rare that they cure themselves for the last. I would say about one every 20 bees.

Final Sting: My nemesis. This can also come in different amounts, and I can't give you definate amounts of damage as I usually have Stoneskin up. My guess is that the numbers are pretty similar to the pollen numbers, or ~200, ~400, ~600. But I have seen it dish out 900+ damage ON TOP of a fresh Stoneskin + Phalanx. So I'm roughly guessing about 1100-1200 damge total. Yes than can definately one-shot you even with full HP and stoneskin and if you look above at my 4 deaths part, now you understand. Also - this will bypass any Blink/Utsusemi you have up, so be warned. Don't count on it saving your life. This is fairly rare though, about as rare as it using Pollen for +1000 hp.

This is all from my experiences so yours may vary. I hope that you have better luck at getting your larvae than myself.
