I remember an incident with these once...
Nothing to pull, so we thought we'd try one of these. They didn't con that high or anything. Big, freakin', mistake.
The battle wasn't going TOO badly... So the tank told me to just use my two hour to finish the job. Turns out this little thing was a Monk too... And could counter a LOT more than me. XD I hit the floor pretty quickly.

We were fighting crabs in the boyadha tree in a 54-55 party, our blm accidently hit a -ga spell macro and hit two of them. I thought they would lose agro after the blm died(no one healed him), but after the blm was dead, they picked us off one by one. Order of death was: BLM>WHM>PLD>RNG(me)>DRK>SAM. The point of this story is.. even though no one healed the blm or attacked these guys after blm f'ed up, they still decimated the entire party. My linkshell told me after I should have disbanded, not sure if that would have kept me safe though.
I can confirm this does happen. Charmed one, failed... linkeded w/ 5 other mandies or so. No one cured me in party. It then killed another BST in my party. Then i used my reraise like a dumb *** and got killed again. It then went after the other BST in our party who was now soloing a VT goobue (ok his mandy pet was anyway) who was resting miles away when the mandy mob (as in large group lol) caught up to him.
also if you have one as a pet and warp or get warped by a blm it WILL aggro whoever is in your party. I didnt believe the blm when he told me this, but it happened to me when a BST in my party used a warp kudgel.
SO YES, THEY WILL LINK TO YOUR PARTY EVEN IF YOUR PARTY DOES NOT ASSIST YOU IN ANY WAY.
AND IF YOU HAVE ONE OF THESE AS A PET USE LEAVE BEFORE YOU WARP.

they don't drop ot me a Conceited Letter but something like a "Snoopy Letter"
maybe its not the same, but this last is a Ex/Rare too ^^

The snobby letter is used in a Windurstrian quest that gets you 5.5k per letter. Hope that helps! ^^
