Main problem is that the WAR/NIN may be tanking and if using this sword, then the VIT-8 wouldn't be too pretty. If the VIT could be made up, though, lowering the -VIT, then it would be okay but not too practical. I'd find it good for a WAR/NIN, though, if they are DD or need a quick break from tanking to recast or something, then using the sword would be nice for regaining some HP if the effect kicks in. It'd also be a nice idea of there's a SC that the pt wants to do but no one else has a sword on them so it'd be okay, still, but then, not a good idea for the WAR/NIN tanking.

Any good player uses /equip macros. Ninja tanks use them to alternate between throwing +Ranged Accuracy gear and their tank gear.
..yeah

Drk's would not use this sword for exp party, this is for soloing/showing off/blah. Once people get to level 66 exp parties, jobs are meant to use certain weapons in a way. Dark Knights are meant to use Scythe's and Greatswords for exp parties because they are able to use Cross Reaper and Spinning Slash, which make light/darkness skillchains. Parties probably won't invite a drk that uses a sword, due to the fact that SATA Cross Reaper/Spinning Slash does roughly 1000+ plus the light/darkness chain damage. Drk/nin is a job more for solo/HNM w/ spirits within... you'll get faster invites subbing war or thf XD

I could seriously see this being more useful for a Warrior. Why? DRK/NIN misses out on Berserk and Double Attack. Warriors have much better abilities than DRK, they could easily get away with subbing Ninja. You don't have to go /NIN to use this, but I personally feel that Rampage is much more useful in an XP party than Spirits Within. The HP drain may look nice for stacking with Soul Eater, but it doesn't drain enough. DRK/NIN is only good for soloing HNMs and doing a quick 30 seconds of hell towards the mob with Blood Weapon+Soul Eater+Ridill and Kraken Club combo.

If I ever got a kraken and ridill, I would JUST use the kraken when dealing damage to HNMs ect, I have seen DRK/NINs solo Adaman Torise with Souleater and blood weapon with a kraken. When it comes to soloing, Ridill+Kraken fits easyer.
With Souleater merited, and club merited, DRKs can deal out DMG like crazy, yes giving TP to the mob, but the over all DMG weighs out the factor.
I agree, WAR/NIN over DRK/NIN in most cases.

(Sowwy spelling) ack! ;;'

That's because the weapon is more ideal for a
"DRK/NIN". A job or DD thats not gonna be tanking
usually. When I say "Ideal" im not saying exclusive. Generally the pro to using DRK/NIN
is it's dual weilding and awesome damage with
SoulEater. The con is the major hitpoint drain,
more so than DRK/WAR. Bloodsword helps to offset
the hp loss.

ok, i got one of these swords, for 800k at the time, and had to try out the drk/nin combo. This is definatly a viable job combo for dmg from my experience. I am equiped with a full suit of royal knights gear and i broke down and bough a sarashi also. The advandage of this combo is that u dont draw near as much hate because your attack is more spread out. the total dmg of my two weapons combined out dmged what my scythe or great sword would have done. I was using a vikings axe in my off hand for the +10 acc bonus, and with the sarashi my delay was 25% less so that really helps out. I was hitting for the same damage as the sam's in my ptys with only one weapon, about 40-60 at lvl 55. The only down side to this combo is partys may want drks to backup voke so u may lose out on ptys that way, and souleater becomes less valuable because of the 2 weapons hitting a round. all in all its a very good combo if you use the right accesories, but people tend to frown on it because "all drk use 2 hand weapons, everyone know that." /sigh

A drk/nin with this and a Kraken Club would be dope.

Well I am trying out the drk/nin combo, and this is one thing i want for the combo, but since i'm 50 and still 1.5mil short, (i want 2x snipers too) its gunna take me a while.

Your right the stats are set up for a Drk/nin but like I said a war/nin DD could do the same dmg if not more then a drk/nin because of extra attack. Yes I know drks have all those attack bonuses at that lvl but usually you see a drk with a Skythe more then a sword or a great sword. Being that their relic if I remember correctly is a Skythe.

I've seen a couple wars at lvl 55 carrying this sword on my server. Usually its coupled with an Axe or another sword rarely they use two of them. Also the person is usually wearing rings and what not to negate the negative modifiers. Also some of the AF gear for a War will negate the modifiers this sword gives. I want to try out two of them just to see how it will handle.

Also for every 2 vit I believe you use 1 def so its not that much of a pain. Though I could be wrong. Been a while since I had vit rings and earrings.

Rare item bud, sry can only have one.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 19 2004 at 10:33 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Rare just means its hard to get "ex" means you can only have one
RE: True
# Jun 20 2004 at 2:51 AM Rating: Decent
Rare means you can only have one of such in your inventory. Ex is short for "Exclusive" or as the word implies, only that person may possess it. So it can't be sold or traded.

To test the Rare attribute out, try using 2 Beestingers as a Ninja. You'll see what I mean.
RE: True
# Jul 16 2004 at 6:32 AM Rating: Decent
Or even simpler? 2 Beastman seals. Ex basically means, you can't sell or trade to a PC. You can however trade them to NPCs for quests, obviously.
DRK/NIN??
# May 24 2004 at 2:46 AM Rating: Default
I'm not trying to imply this would be a viable job combo (it may be, but I'm not one to argue either way, as I don't have any experience with Ninja as a subjob), but it would appear that a DRK/NIN would be able to best take advantage of this sword.

Just a thought.
I wannit....

Personally if your DD war/nin your not really tanking at that lvl because either a pal/war or a nin/war is the primary. Meaning your usually the back up. This with Duel wield would pwn all with the HP drain as a backup tank. You would save your WHM a truck load of MP.

As for this being a good sword for DRK. Who here has seen a DRK using a single-hand sword at that lvl?
duh

look at the stats, all things a DRK would want... Doubt many warriors want this for obvious reasons
what its good for

its more then likely ment to be used by DRK which means that the player has chosen not to be a tank becasue of the naturaly low vit of the job but high str.
nope
# Feb 01 2004 at 1:31 PM Rating: Default
mind is healing vitality is def, meaning this would really be good for a dark knight not having the def to tank in the first place nor the healing magic

Has anyone used this sword, I want to know what the stats do to you when you fight. I mean -8vit and -8mnd doesnt that make you weak against physical attack and magic attack? Doesnt that defeat the purpose most jobs with swords are used as the tank.
