Ok, we can finally get married....but what if my new wife keeps nagging me. Is there something in the works for getting a divorce? Or am I just stuck with that ????? for life? Im not married yet but i want to know just in case I decide to, because if not I definitly need to choose wisely....
How to get a divorce in five easy steps. Unequip wedding ring. Tell her, I'm sorry it isn't working. /Goodbye your wife. Walk to the Jeuno AH. Drop it. (Or in one easy step, Drop the damn ring.)

Based on this, I'm not entirely sure *you* want to get married on the game...it's not like you *have* to. Besides, most women on the game are very nice, not naggy or anything.
Just to inform everyone Square has finally anounced the date that weddings will be avaliable in the English version. June 4th American players will be able to enjoy this new event. Also the wedding ring is NOT a quested item. The ring is given to the two to be married when they send in a request for marriage form. They have the option to be engraved and all. All information regaurding American weddings can be found in the Compendulum in the PlayOnline viewer. ^_^
ok, so this really has nothing to do with the armour, but I saw my first wedding in Bastok a few months ago. It was around the time when they had the fireworks (ouku ranman?). Somehow I was invited to watch the ceremony and it was extrememly beautiful. The trees in Bastok were blooming and the wedding coordinator was running around crazily trying to get people in the right spot. When the maid of honor came down the steps she used those little fireworks and it was just really cute. ^.^ Oh yeah, they had a bard playing during the service too. Off the subject, by some strange happening I became the groom's mother. o.O; Yeah! ^_^ So I just wanted to share the cute little wedding story, maybe give you some ideas for your own. Good luck.
If they do decide to include marriage, it should have a benefit to the palyers, like if you are partied with your wife or husband, you get a tax break at the AH or something...lol Maybe crafting skills rub off on on another, not fully (25%-50%) would sufice. Also exp in battle could be higher between the two when partied. Ok there aslo has to be a negative right? When playing without the other player exp will take a slight hit. If they get separtated (divorced) each pay 1/2 their gil for a divorce, and lose 50% of their skills gained by the marriage Something like that.
(Um...)(No thanks.) That's not really a smart idea... Look at what they did to Ragnarok online, they made that kind of thing, where you get abilities if you marry someone, but, its dumb, its more of a "marrying people because you get to do this cool kickass thing!" instead of love, I think SE chose the right thing to do. so, Marriage Benefits? (Huh!?)(No thanks.)
Hope this helps someone, but from what I have been hearing.. Is that when you complete "Fit for a Prince" Quest you and the female Mithra/Hume/Elv both receive a Wedding Ring. Not good for anything else except the Wedding Ceremonies, which should make an appearance in the game in one of the upcoming updates.
Ok i found out somethings about the wedding equipment. SquareEnix is adding the wedding ceremony to the English version of the game soon as announced on the playonline website. If you go to Windurst Walls outside the huge tree in the center is a hume in red clothing. She mentions the equipment and the playonline site so my guess it will be coming real soon and we will have to buy the equipment.
Where do i get the wedding clothes and ring? Are they crafted, drops off mobs or purchased? I know only the japanese can get nmarried but is it still possible to get the clothes?
Given the percentage of male gamers in the world, I'd say the overwhelming majority of the 'weddings' that can happen in this game will only be superficially heterosexual.
I don't know about that. The majority of players probably won't be interested in weddings to begin with, and those who are interested in weddings are more likely to be female gamers. ^^
Actually I'm going to be marrying for fun. However, I don't think they will allow gay marriages due to how America has been acting about it lately, but you never know it IS only a game. But, I DO plan on getting married, to take it seriously and to have fun with it... not really dating nor married irl. :) It's all about role play... To escape from the real world... That's what role playing is all about. Having fun ya. :)
It's not rude at all.. check the item up there. Does is say anything about killing NM? Noooope its a wedding ring, go post in the Monk forum about how 100 punches is great for killing NM.
I wish that this ring would give you and your spouse a little something. Maybe extra dmg when you SC together or maybe a special "cover" when the other is low on hp. Then again I want my own airship and a Chocobo Knight job too and I don't have either of those yet ^.^
So... where can you get this ring? Is it craftable like some of the other wedding equipment, or do you get it from a quest, or does an NM drop it, or what?

"what now is SE gonna be all the other games and have marriages, wow thats original if i wanted to play house i would have gone to gramer school, i personally feel that there should not be marrige for the fact that people are then gonna want devorce, weddings, and the game is gonna get alittle stupid even though i don't think ffxi will ever get stupid. i guess i should have thought the day would come with the tarut card quest in jueno."
I was nearly completely unable to find and/or follow any sort of logical thought progression in the first post down there. It seems to me that I would rather prefer the idea of playing an online RPG with persons who want to have a little good fun... at least if given the option between them and such illiterate junior high dropouts as our well-spoken first poster... <cough>
