Took me four kills to finally get the axe, funny thing is I only subbed THF for the fourth kill and got both the Tungi and the adaman ore..
Also, killed him a fifth time, no drop again. It's not very common but not hugely rare, TH + TH2 seem to really help, from my experience.

ya TH seems to help out a lot. did this guy 4 times trying to get axe for a war friend. after geting tag 3 times and kiling him 3 times the war got a 56 THF to come. droped on 4th fight a long w/ 4 iron ores. we got adaman ore from fights 1 and 3. pretty nice night in quicksand seeing as how we opened the coffer 5 times ^^
Did this 2 night. Super easy. Finsihed the whole thing in about 20 mins lol got the drop 2.

I was running around QSC looking for coofer and checking some random ??? and got tag. Did some LS bouncing and found someone with a lvl 47 WAR who wanted. I don't lvl WAR so i said ok. Found a friend skilling up with static in Western Altepa and asked themt o help. We killed it with 68 PLD, 68 RDM, 68 MNK, 70 RDM and 50 THF...no probs. Tungi dropped and friend got it. 1/1 on it.

I've had at least one person with TH in my party every time and still no drop(not even sure if TH affects it). I hvae another tag so gonna try it again later.../sigh

We just went and tried it was a easy fight with a 75nin tank. Got drop 1's try..Lucky! I think it does help double attack I swing alot more with it then before with out it and im a 61war/30nin. Good axe if u don't have it yet check it out.
yeah this axe sucks but its not hard to get ???for tag, just annoying 0/2 atm

According to numerous people I have talked to this axe does have a hidden effect. It does not however give you double attack. It enhances double attack. Meaning you must already have double attack to get the benefits.
I have thoroughly tested it as a BST and know for certain it didn't give me any kind of multi hit ability. I have however talked to several people who are WAR or /WAR and have this axe and they swear it greatly increases their double attack.
I know this kind of thing can't be proven, but I am 100% sure that it did not grant me double attack as BST.

You don't need the job trait on something that 'enhances' it. Take Tatami Shield for example: You don't need all those killer effects to kick in.
Kabrakan's Axe is still better for BST I think.
i use it for bst, and i never seen it double attack.
maybe if you sub war, it will increase the rate of double attack job trait?

Normally if you get an item that enhances a 'Job Ability' you'd have to be the job, or sub the job that actually has the 'Job Ability' in order for it to enhance :)

Funny how i came here to see if this axe has hidden effects and someone posted it might have double attack bonuses.
After using this in a skillup/eye hunt pt the other day along with a Dainslaif, i would definately say it has hidden effects. Double Attack would go off pretty frequently using this axe then the sword. I had double attack go off 4 times in row once. I'm a 70drk/35war btw :)

Can anyone confirm what hidden effects this thing has? I'm about to go fight the NM hoping for the drop and want to know if it's worth it over one of my Darksteel Axes+1 or not. I wanna use it for my War/Nin if it's good.

Everyone I know agrees that this axe has hidden effects, but i'm not sure which. I've heard both that it has +20 ATK and Double Attack+ bonuses. Anyone heard anything like this or have it and can corroborate?

I am almost 60 war (57 atm, @5k) and at 60 I am going to drag my 70+ ls along to get me this axe. I will then join genkai parties and record how often double attack kicks in with af boots and normal axes for 100 fights, then record how many times it kicks in after 100 fights with this and af boots on.
Results will be posted after I am done :)
EDIT: Even if this doesnt have any hidden effect, dual wielding this and francisca=teh sex0rz >_>;;
