Okay synthers....What is the differance between hydro and kilo pumps/fans besides lvl in battle is it simply more dmg or what? What am I missing? And if Kilo's work in placeof hydro's on same weapon like everyone else I want em' <reward> thadrizzle on Fairy! FAIRY FTW WOOT!
Currently on Odin for a stack of ingredients which will yield 8 stacks of kilo pumps to sell to NPC for ~30k total:
1 stack of Earth Crystals: 1k from AH 12 water clusters: 24k from AH 1 stack of chestnut lumber: 30k (slightly less if you lumberjack it yourself.) 2 stacks of Coeurl Whiskers: 50k from AH 1 stack of Bamboo sticks: 1.2k from the Tenshodo in Lower Jeuno 1 stack Carbon Fiber: 8.9k assuming you make it yourself in Bastok Mines from NPC. (I make it in the 11-tier.) 1 Stack Animal Glue: 9k (I make this myself on the 51-tier, it sells for 30k/stack @ AH.)
So, all total, that's costing me 124.1k to NPC for 30k and that will give me about 12 synths.
This is definitely the bottleneck of woodworking with the only other decent choice being commodes which requires more capital, 12 commode synths requires a capital of 400k to get 360k back, but very, very slowly.
If you have an efficient way of making gil, Kilo pumps are currently the way to Power your way to 76 and then you break the 31 tier on lumberjacking rosewood for 1 last level of commodes.
I myself am doing both Commodes and kilo pumps to get out of this bottleneck quickly then onto Cabinets, Kubara Arrows and my (supposed) riches when I'm finally in the 90s.
I just take comfort in the fact that this bottleneck is nowhere near as bad as the one(s) for smithing, goldsmithing and clothcraft.
The alchemy cap is 50~ (might want to get it to 58 if you are planning on making some of the ingreds, for HQ's and such)
With maxed fame they sell to a NPC vendor for 41 gil (Bootykilla must of been selling in jeuno with max fame, they like to take a 1 gil tax I think)
And yes the NQ is 66
Which makes them nice to lvl woodworking with, along with the step up item Mega pump(84) which sells for 51 to a NPC vendor
at 79 you can HQ the Chestnut Lumber with a 50% rate, so if you play your cards right and buy/synth the other ingreds cheaply you can actually make gil (depending on AH prices)
At level 73 Woodworking there isn't much of a choice if you ask me!
1. way to raise your WW higher is to get a Lushy, break it on the ship and then repair it. But with the new Fishing System this seems to be near impossible.
2. way you make Commode. A stack Rosewoodlumber is currently at 60k on Odin. And you need 5 lumber for one of those commode's. So if you want to make a run of just 10 crafts you have to spend 600k, imagine: for JUST 10 crafts!!! And you want to get around 4 levels with them...Well, if you are rich, really rich, go ahead. I won't stop you. But those facts stopped me and i was stucked at WW for a really long time! And imagine the loss if you fail one! I mean, there arn't any cheap ingredients where you can say it dosn't matter to you if you loose them.
Or, you choose the 3. path with the pumps. You might not get so much skill ups because it's a double craft (alch and WW), but the ingredients cost nearly the same as for the commode, but if you fail you don't loose so much money. And with the step up to the next pumps skill ups will get better! Like for every craft YOU'LL loose money, but i think with those pumps you don't loose as much as you can loose with the commode.
I also had a yield of 66 on my first(and only) synth, and I swear it was an NQ animation. Either I got real lucky, or the yield has recently been changed. More info when I get a bit higher in woodworking and try these out for skill-ups.
