My cloth was at 22 and my leather was at 18. I sat down to craft this item with advanced cloth synth support, expecting to get skillups only in cloth. Imagine my surprise and delight to get skillups in *both* cloth and leather.
Also, I was getting skillups in both crafts even when I failed the synth, which means that the leather skillcap for these booties can't be above 23 (since you don't get skillups on failed synths unless you are within 5 levels of the cap). I stopped getting skillups after leather hit 20. No leather skillups (but regular cloth skillups) out of 9 synths, but that might just be a fluke. And before anyone asks, yes, I've taken my leather test. I was an initiate during this crafting session.
What crafter doesn't luuuuuuuuuv getting dual skillups?
i tried these twice with lvl 2 leathercraft and failed both times, so...id really like to know what i need to make these i just assumed the leathercraft cap was the same as the beret, 5.
it's economics, the more money in a system, the more money stuff costs. So, while it's easy to blame the gil sellers for prices going up, the simple reason is that there are more high lvl people wandering around who have made a lot of money, and when that money gets put into the economy by crafting and buying spells and such, more people have the money, it gets spread around. When you have more money, you are willing to spend more for materials. When you spend more for materials, you have to sell the items at a higher price to recoop your costs.
Most of the Noct set seems to require a leathercraft skill of 20. I was able to make the noct doublet at clothcraft 40ish and leathercraft 20. I didn't try this synth at that time but more likely than not it'll require about 20 levels of leathercraft.
Well the advanced synthesis NPC told me to try this recipe at clothcraft skill 23 ... but even with advanced synthesis it was beyond my level. Any clue as to what level I need to be to craft this?
Not sure, but the problem is probably the leathercraft requirements. My leathercraft is not yet raised vary much and so I am reluctant to try this recipe.
