For the longest time on the Fenrir server, manteels were 25 mil. All of a sudden more have showed up on the AH and now the last one sold is only 13.5 mil. This is very obtainable now if someone synths another one.

I don't know if it has been said but Sha'ir actually means bard or poet in arabic. It's HQ Sheikh means someone who has studied in the olden days but now the rulers of most arab countries are called it.
There are like 50+ manteel's on odin, most were selling for 20-35m last I checked.. I think we have a lotta vrtra killers, lol.. Last I saw, he was running around pwning mnk parties in krt before I went on break.

itsnot Vrtra killing, you can deynth an item you can buy into Cashmire...the female panties item, Femina? or something, it can be bought from an NPC for a few mil, and you break them down for clothes...thats all

I'm on Valefor and we have a decent amount on here now.. Not exactly sure where they all came from lol.. However.. I am getting one made today :D me and a friend spliting the cost of the synth and the other materials cause he got the cloth from a Desynth ^-^ 69 Brd and I'll be sporting that in my bazaar till I can wear it!!!

Just got mine today after months of waiting for my luck to turn around. All told I ended up 1/4 on desynth of the subligar. The crafter, Aidenpryde on Ramuh server, was cool enough to buy one of the subligars for me because he felt bad about the breaks. Then he hooked me up big time with cashmere cloth^^
well, looking at these post's i guess im really lucky to have one of these. I went the subligar route all in all cost me 8.4mil ish give or take.
I figured they were going for alot since its GS 95 anywho got whole set now

I'm not sure where you get that Vrta hasn't been beaten on Unicorn, but i do know that he has many times. Wabo,TURKS and a few others i can confirm have done it. I also see that you posted in early 05 , they beat it in '04 and '05

Machina killed it the other day on asura, they're making the manteel atm i believe, plus, yes you can make it another way besides killing him, just takes longer... and isnt as fun, or hard -.-;

Asura, people keep sayin Vrtra has been killed, idk if thats true, alot of people think otherwise. However there are bout 4-5 on our sever now, and its *NOT* worth the 30+ mil its going for. yea its a nice piece of armor and would *LOVE* to have it, but the desynth item is 8mil. 8mil, why pay 4-5 times that for an item? {No Thankx} ill asve for the desynth and have somefriends desynth/craft it.

The reason people are marking it up between 25 and 50 million is so they can make a profit. Some people are thinking that this item costs 8million to make, and unfortunately, that isn't the case. Yes, it CAN be made for 8million + other materials, but realistically, these subligars are breaking more than they are actually desynthing into Cashmere. I purchased 3 Subligars on Ramuh, and had a 100+3 Clothcrafter do the desynth. The first one broke, the second one turned into 3 Cashmere, and the third HQ'd and turned into a Shining Cloth. A friend of mine on Ramuh did the same thing, and broke all 3 times. Lovelovelove wouldn't sell her Manteel for less than 40 million because it cost her 50million in breaks just to get.
This Manteel can be made for around 9 million in troubles, but you have potential breaks on 3 different levels...
Desynthing the Subligar (95+ Cloth)
Synthing the Cashmere thread into Cloth (95+ Cloth)
Synthing the Manteel (Goldsmithing + Cloth Sub).
I hope this better explains why people are asking so much for their Manteels, as I learned from experience, it's a stressful, expensive, and exciting part of the game. I don't mean to discourage, by all means, I was pretty happy when my subligar didn't break, but definitely prepare yourself, because breaking is a huge possibility.

I had a Manteel sighting on the Fairy server in someone's bazzar. :P
If you go to Bastok Mines by the Moghouse there is always a Hume Female mule named Smalt there, it's the only thing in her bazzar... 45 mil...
I've seen her there everytime I come this way, I dunno if that's a good price or not, haven't seen the prices anywhere else.
On the subject of the armor... Yeah, teh uber... that goes without saying, good luck getting your hands on this fine piece of gear my Spoony friends!

The last couple have sold for 22million-30million. Anyone selling or seen any being sold, hard to find Clothcrafters on our server to do the Desynth!

Yes, when I was in Rabao today I saw a tarutaru run by with all pieces of sha'ir except the turban, in it's place naturally was an opo-opo crown. <3 Ael

On kujata only 1 of the HQ version of this item has ever sold......and it sold for 1 gil. God help that poor soul.
Better check that sales history again, probably sold it to himself as an "OMG Look at me I have this I'm 1337 WTF!" flag.
These starting to pop up more on A.H./bazaars now? Just curious as to prices across servers with the new desynth.
