i got a rattler while farming my 75 pld there thought it was crap threw it out now im 88 leathercraft i figured out wat its for and i want it back.... go figure.

lol. My friend and i decided to try farming these while lvling NPCs.. We got to the hurrricane wyvern spawn point, buffed, called NPCs( mines 59, almost 60, his is 57 or so, i was RDM75/NIN, he was MNK75) and pulled one. The FIRST KILL ONE DROPPED. We lol'd for about 5 min after <_<.
I've had so much better luck hunting Papyrus and Eldemie/Beadoux Coffer Keys compared to this damn egg. 2 Merit Points (as a solo BST/WHM) later and still no drop. I bet when I finally get the egg the NM won't even drop the scythe or any skins for me either.
strange it was a hard drop for you, with a party of 4-5 75's i can always get one in 1-2 hours
One of the worst drop rates in the game IMO. I killed lizards for two days, total of 7 hrs no drop....
This item is used to pop Tarasque, a Lizard NM, at a ??? on a rock just past the bridge over the lava that leads to the Wyvern area. His skin is used to make Austere gear and Tarasque Mitts. Be forewarned, the drop is -doom- rare; In my time hunting there, I've seen 2 dragon blood drop from the bats, but only one egg. Good luck.
my guess there's a NM Lizard inside, but i dont know.
got one of an ash lizard in ifrits cauldron where the hurrican wyverns spawn...
