Gungnir ("Goon-near," am I saying that right???)
That name sounds so familiar, where have I heard it? I thought it sounded like something from FFX-2 or Star Ocean 3. Or maybe it was some anime show my sister watched and the name is now stuck in my head.
Wherever it came from, I remember it being a massively destructive weapon. And I don't mean it like a lance, but a machine (or machina if it is from FFX-2)

In Norse mythology, Skögul or Geirskögul is one of the valkyries. She is mentioned in Völuspá and occurs as a minor character in Hákonarmál. Her name is commonly found in kennings. Aside from this the character is unknown, but her mention on a 13th century runic inscription from Bergen indicates that she may have once been a major character in Norse mythology.

If anyone has a video of gheirskogul, plz post it. As far as the issue with the hidden effect that it hits 2x as hard every 1-th hit this is the "Additional Effect: Decreases defense" So its really not a hidden effect since it says it bluntly on the weapon description. As far as the 100+ Mil to be aquired, you may get it back by doin shouts as the following "Gheirskogul previews, 10k gil. /tell sonso." I think there is enough demand from other Drgs. Anyways GL to the rest of you i know how i am getting my 120+Mil.

Anyone have any pics of this? I've checked all the links on these threads and they all lead to nothing. I also tried searching Photobucket for "Gaiden75", but it keeps asking me to enter "his/her" password. So I'm assuming the pics he/she has aren't public.

Hmm... after seeing that weapon it just leaves me speechless. Don't get me wrong I would love to have it but I don't think it's worth the time to get like 70-100,000,000g to obtain it. I never seen the Relic Weaponskill but it better not be gimpy like the rest of them seeing on how hard the Lance is to get and all.

im on the levithan sever if ur rank 10 and spend conquest points on the aektons ull make 500k or more for 1 also fire crystals sell on average 4.5k to 5k a stack and if u really love DRG like i do ull figure a way to make the money and get the lance i know i will do casino in jeuno a lot for the 90k lol

The prices on your server sound similar to mine. Which means that in mid summer 2005 you would need about 300,000,000 for the full upgrade. By your strategy of selling aketons that equates to needing 33,600,000 conquest points. I don't know many people with over 200,000. By your strategy of selling fire crystals that equates to 60,000 stacks at 5,000 gil each.
In other words it will only take you 2 years to save up the gil if you can average 986 crystals a day (82 stacks) of course you will have to sell all those stacks immediately or you will run out of room.... Which means you will be adding a dispropportionate amount of supply in relation to demand on your server.... Which means you would singlehandedly drive the cost of fire crystals down on your server.... Which means you will need to farm more crystals than planned.... Which will increase the suicide rate in your town by one.

ok if someone tells me my job sucks when i have that weapon equiped then they need to see a doctor then die an unexplained death >.> cus this weapon is indisputably the best weapon ive seen yet, it is so great iw ill not fight tiamat till i have it >.>

I can verify Gaiden's claim on Gungnir.
Kaluga on Caitsith has it.
He was a 75DRG for at least a year and a half. He helped a friend of mine get a coffer key late DEC of 2003. Being a DRG for that long you deserve this weapon ^^

ok guys got the link to the website where my pics are held of Gungnir some are a bit dark but I will try to get more... Also got great news Drgs can be in xp pt if one has Gungnir because impulse drive >>> Geirskogul makes Darkness!^^

That polearm looks so awesome! want one!
well i got some info on that lance and some pretty kewl news... watched a friend use this lance today pretty bad... its nice cause every 10 hits he does an attack that does double dmg (hidden stat guys)^^ he ran up non critical and hit a catipillar for 494 dmg... ( we was there for uncapped ballista)... Lance was nice he was subbin rdm also and his wyrm Armet recovered 350 hp which is pretty sweet.^^ (I love to solo) His Geirskogul ws not to sure how good it is but well he used it on a thunder elememtal there and it did 190 dmg... maybe hopefully its TP based ^^.; Anyways I love that lance its awesome looking and perfect for your Relic AF.^^ I have some pics but Im dumb and dont know how to put it up in this website hmmmm any ideas I can show some pics? ^^

Fake?! I see, if you looke extra carefully at the lower edge of the trident, you can detect a slim black line, obviously an un-deleted artifact from the previous image the lance was present in!
Or, you could just notice that she's sitting down and waving, and last I checked you can't cradle your weapon like a baby.

Because it's still a picture of the polearm model, whether they actually have it or not?
If someone ever gets this weapon, that's what it will look like, it's pretty simple to swap some .dat files and make any regular weapon look like a fully upgraded relic one.

Someone asked about if anyone hade this on valefore.
I know lot's of lvl 75 guys who have said not one person on the server hase any relic WEP skill.
and that no one is anywhere near haveing it.

I'm going to be an old man by the time i get this baby. DRG56/WAR28 at the moment. And i still have a long way to get to get to 75.

There is just no way, by the time im able to afford this, square would probably abandon FFXI from the little attraction people have with playing it anymore.
Is there any possible way to farm the currency yourself without having to use your own gil?

i would make love to this lance.....
Only the fisrt and second upgrade need currency, the other two upgrades need ra/ex drops #3 is dynamis beaucadine #4 is dynamis Xcabard, saying that it cost 64 M silver peice for #3 and making up a fictitional "r. jadeshell" for #4 is just somthing some one decided to post on a rainy day.

I hate to be the downer of the group, but at 90 million gil, most of us won't see this unless you win the lottery and use that money to buy gil... *Cough*
I'm not 100% on the R. Stripeshell, it's just the best possible educated guess I can come up with till I get there myself :/
