About WS's and the INT
# Jun 23 2005 at 1:32 AM Rating: Decent
INT doesn't affect but certain WS's. If you look at the high lvl rings, certain stats are tied to certain colors. Example: Fire is tied to red, as well as the stat STR. STR would affect any WS's with RED next to the WS. The same would apply for others, even avatars are the same way.

I gots one of these hats just because I like to roleplay so basically i have stuff that i call my "walking around gear" i had the full traders set minus gloves and feet but i sold it once my smn hit 23 (minus hat i still have it ^^) now i have this hat and garish tunic for my RDM to wear when im RPing lol. I'm one of the people who bought it just for the look, and let me tell you: nothing inspires fear quite like a Galka in DRK AF wearing this hat. {scary}

RDM AF hat, why its cool:
Fast Cast
23 def
elemental magic +10
Fast cast
MP+20
Int +3
And lastly did I mention Fast Cast?
As well as it being the crowning (pun) achivement for the RDM AF storyline, and you get the ever fun title 'paragon of red mage excelence'.

There's probably 10x more of the hats than there are of any other Trader/Baron item. People don't wear it for stats, people wear it because rdm af is one of the best looking armor sets (not just af, but all equip) in the game. Personally, and perhaps a bit biased, it'd say the Monk AF2 looks cooler, black and purple, it's just....yummy. And whm looks like jammies. Ok, it's the best looking Artifact, but it's not the best armor, which is monk relic (although rdm af2 is damned sweet too, better than af1 set). Anyway! I bought the hat (my pimpin' hat) because it looks like the glorious rdm af hat. Everybody has purchased it for that reason, don't believe their lies!!

Sorry to say this Netvixen, but INT does affect elemental dagger weapons skills, If you have ever seen a THF hit with a Gust Slash, it usually hits for about 70-80 damage, but when a BLM uses a Kris and readies Gust Slash, it always does more than 110 at least. INT affects elemental weapon skills just as much as CHA affects Dancing Edge. ^^

I started making these with a Clothcraft of 52 and a Leathercraft of 5.

I recieved steady skilliups to my leathercraft until I advanced to level 6 and since then I haven't recieved a single skillup while making them.

So based on my findings the subskill of leather caps at 6 for these, if anyone can confirm or disprove this please inform me.

So to make this you need a clothcraft somewhere in the 20s, and a leathercraft of 6.
RDM AF

hate to say it dude... but the RDM is the most envied of all AFs... that's why half of people level that job. So stop being an idiot and taking it personally.

Successfully synthed this hat now 3 times as a 28 clothcrafter w/ 7 leathercraft and advanced synth support. I am getting this recipe from the lowest level recipe giver (the Mithra), so I am guessing the recipe is somewhere in the 20s?

The prices on this set are going nuts because the price of red moko grass is equally nuts. On Asura last time I checked (2 nights ago), the chapeau was going for 300k in Jeuno (I put one up for 280k and it sold for 300k within an hour), and a stack of the grass was going for 150-200k.

That's more than what a stack of mugwort goes for, and believe me, red moko grass is NOT that rare. You can easily get a stack of it from the Sarutabaruta in under an hour, even with other harvesters out there.

To all those wanting this hat, just wait a week and the price will drop dramatically, I'm guessing down to 10k. In the meantime, if you're on Asura and you bring me the ingredients, I'll synth it for you for free ^^

Does this have a hidden effect? I saw it and was like "Hey I should buy this to look mad pimp when i'm not partying." but then BAM! Smacked in the face with the 150k price. There has to be something to it, otherwise its just a retarded ripped off hat.

nope!!

u should see the +1 version of this hat!! hehe

INT+2, Enmity +2

Wonder which job is best to wear this Hat
RE: wtf
# Apr 25 2005 at 2:55 PM Rating: Decent
Probly THF if they dont have a Emperor Hairpin.

Heres why: Dagger WS's use elemental dmg dealing effects. INT+2 will increase this damage. Secondly enmity+2 (only for THF30+) helps "Glue" Hate onto the Tank with sa/ta.

I really hope that you do know SATA doesn't stack with elemental weapon skills. >.>

ok this is coming from a lv 30 mithra (decent INT) thf and a lv 48 galka (bad INT).

INT DOESN'T EFFECT UR WEAPONS SKILL'Z DAMAGE!!!
Weapon Skill Damage is based on you STR and Attack sometimes TP and/or HP maybe Acc, but definately not you're INT (whether there is Elemental Damage or not) INT effects the magical damage you dish out, implies you are using MP.

As for Enmity, it would only help if you only put the hat on for SA TA and then take it off when done. Otherwise you are accumulating that +2 Enmity the entire battle. True the mob will stick to the tank....but only until you start hitting it again.

I don't particular like the hat. If PLD NIN or WAR could wear it then i would maybe think about buying or making one.

As a level 68BLM that uses dagger to farm and has it capped, I can say that INT does effect the dagger WS' that are elemental based. I tested this theory a while ago by taking off all of my INT gear, that's over 20 more int points, and used gust slash, wasn't too shabby, then did it again with my gear on, a heck of a lot better. I retested this many times, often on Wild Rarabs and other mobs that have a very small level range, if they even range at all, and can vouch that INT effects most of the WS' for dagger.

If you look back at interviews with SE, take note of their statement that some WS' are based on varying stats, including but not limited to CHR (most light WS' are based on this), INT(most elemental), MND(not sure which are somewhat based on this), STR(all of the "Deals Critical Damage" WS' are on this and ACC).

actualy.... great sword WS at high lvl are affected by int. and the person was talking about add'l effect weapons. as for those, i know for a fact that mnd has a direct effect on holy bolt additional damage. a rng in my ls got suzaku suneate (+ some absurd amount of mnd) and was doing a significant amount more damage per additional effect.

I was able to pull this off tonight at 53.x cloth and 8.x leather... I got a .1 skillup on cloth, so it is at least 54 plus. Mysterytour is estimating it at about 60, last I know of.
-edit- - I DID have on advanced synth support for this. I did not want to risk it as no one was sure of the level yet ^^
