They cost about as much to make as to buy, really. They sell for 30k to 50k on Remora, and the major costs in making one are the glass sheet and Sieglinde putty, which are at 18K and 10K respectively. The fish and goldfish set can be had by goldfishing, of course, which is going on right now as part of the midsummer festival.

I spent 3 hours running around doing the crafts to get high enough to attempt it. I was so nervous because I thought I would lose the EX item.

I made mine today with 6 woodworking, 2 smithing, 22 alchemy. I was levelling woodworking to 10 but when I asked the guy at the guild what I could make, lo and behold he tells me the recipe for the goldfish bowl. Since it was the normal synth guy not the advanced recipe guy I'm thinking, why waste time and money levelling if he says I can make one now? So I went out and bought all the ingredients and I already had the goldfish set and the two fish from the event. I didn't think it would work but it was like 5am and I was half asleep so I didn't care. I got advanced woodworking support from Al Zhabi and would you believe it didn't break? I got a 0.1 skillup in smithing from it too.

So when it shows more than one craft job, do I need all of them up to that level, or just Woodworking/Alchemy/Smithing?

I've had the Goldfish Set sitting in my MH for a while and I just decided to try and make one of these.
I had actually saved some Super Scoops on a mule and I still had the Goldfish Bowl they gave out during the event that you use to catch the fish. It turns out if you have that stuff you can still scoop Goldfish. I got a Tiny and Blk. Bubbleye to use for the synth.
I attempted it with Woodworking 9, Alchemy 52, Smithing 4. I got Woodworking advanced support. The first attempt was on Lightsday with a new moon. I failed ><. Luckily I only lost the ingot, calculus and the putty. I had to wait for more flaxseed oil to show up in the AH to make some more Sieglinde Putty. Tried again, this time it was Lightsday with a 43% FQM and advanced support again. I was successful this time. I used an aurora crystal to sign it.
As long as you can get the materials you don't need to wait for the event to try it. Only thing would be if you lost the Goldfish Set....then you're screwed. Good luck to anyone else who tries.

I've had the Goldfish set since the event, and never got a chance to use it. Way to poor to buy some of the items back then. I then lost the game for a couple of months, so I lost my chance to get the two fish needed

There was hope.

Sells for 200k each on Diabolos. Costs about 50k for materials. This time of year though (december) fish and goldfish sets are impossible to get.

My stats were ww 15 sm 12 alc 6 and I did it on lightsday facing NE.

Ok i made most of the items myself except for putty and glass sheet. at this point Alchemy, Woodworking, and Smithing r at lv 0. I start on my wood working. i would make ash staff seeing as how the staff and bowl r a lv 10 skill. at lv 6 i noticed the staff to be made about a 8/10 success rate. so i decide to try and poof. success. i noticed when i made it my woodwork and alchemy rose. but my alchemy is at 0 so i dunno. BTW i was facing southeast. ~Ni
Manage tyo get this after getting my crafting skils up to lvl 10 on woodworking, alcumy, and smithing.

Crafted this today with 9 woodworking (with advanced support), 6 alchemy, and 4 smithing. It was a 100% moon on watersday. It's my theory that you should craft it on watersday instead of light day.
I was so nervous about this- a lot of work and $$. Thank god it worked.

I've gone 2/2 on this synth so far, Woodworking 20 Alchemy 2 Smithing 3. First one I made with WW adv support, I don't remember what day, and second was without any support on Lightsday. My Alchemist friend made some of the materials but most were bought. I checked one out in my Mog, but I don't see how it sells for as much as it does and AH'd it - even if I had bought all the materials it would still be over 100k easy profit. Heheheheh.
