Secret of the Damp Scroll

In-Game TextDescriptionFirst you need a damp scroll. This can be under the Other -> Miscellaneous section of the Auction House, or can be fished up in Sea Serpent's Grotto. Once you have the scroll, talk to Shivivi, and she will tell you that the scroll is some "new fangled ninjutsu" they made, but it needs dipped in the spring at Horlais Peak to be readable. Head to Horlais Peak and trade te scroll to the ??? in the middle of the spring for your reward: Scroll: Jubaku: Ichi, the level 30 ninjutsu paralyze scroll. I was doing this quest and real quick I looked at the pos Allakhazam gives. J-6 doesn't exist on Norg's map. Not that it's really hard to find her but she is walking along the tunnel back and forth of J-8.

Where is Horlais Peak?
Easy Directions to the Hot Springs.
Enter Ghelsba OutPost from E-4 West Ranfaure.
Hug the Left wall and enter the Tunnel at I-11. This will Zone you into:
Yughott Grotto: Take the North Exit at K-5. Zoning into:
Fort Ghelsba: Make your way to J-8 and go through the Hut. Zoning back to:
Yughott Grotto: Take the South Exit at J-9. Zoning into:
Horlais Peak: The Hot Puddle will be about 40-50 steps directly in front of you.

Go to West Ronfaure, then into Ghelsba, then into Fort Ghelsba, then into the Yughott Grotto.
Once in the Grotto, head towards J-9, and into Horlais Peak. Then, just go to the springs and do the rest.

I can/t get this quest and i've already done utemsi, any idea why?

I had done all 5 of the previous scroll quests but for some reason Shivivi wouldn't tell me a damn thing.
The solution: The Damp Scroll needs to be in your personal inventory when you talk to her, for her to start the quest.
If you still don't get the quest from her, then your Norg fame has most likely gone back down again due to other quests to raise fame in the major cities.

It is now not a ??? that you trade it to, it is the "Hot Springs"

bouht the damp scroll for 3k from the AH, but the little taru just wouldn't let me have the quest -_-

I received no such title.
I'm gonna have to agree with Mesajar on this one. This was the last of the 6 ninjitsu quests I did (did them over the last few days) and all of them gave a title. For this one, I went to the hot springs, traded the damp scroll, got my scroll of jubaku: ichi, and warped back to norg (I didn't realize I didn't have to go back to norg, oh well). I talked to Shivivi, who said what she always used to say about ninja coolness. I then checked my profile, and saw this title. I guess the real test would be to check it right after trading the scroll, however I think it would be safe to say that I didn't do anything important in between, and so Cracker of the Secret Code is indeed the title granted for the completion of this quest.

The title is rewarded to you immediately after you've obtained Jubaku: Ichi [i.e. after you've traded the Damp Scroll to the Hot Spring], so you needn't go back to talk to the NPC to obtain your title.
Death Warp, do you need it?
Plan ahead.. Sandy HP, two airship rides, Chocobo to Sea Grotto, Silent Oil or sneak in the grotto to norg, change to level one job, go outside norg and aggro something, HP back to Sandy, run to the peak...
If I ever fish out a damp scroll (don't want to buy since NIN may never be thirty but at the same time don't want to sell in case I do level it) i'll time it.... Of course as a WHM/BLM I could warp instead of death warping and teleport to Yhoat and Holla... Done the Low Lands supply run also so I could shave time off like that....

I know the quest is not repeatable but the question is: can you still trade damp scrolls to the spring after the first?
That is a good question. You could make some serious gil off doing that. I'll have to try it sometime and then update.
EDIT: No, you can't keep trading damp scrolls to the Hot Spring. You can only trade the scroll when you have the quest active, and since the quest is not repeatable you can only do it once.

damp scroll was ~9k, jubaku: ichi was ~35k. it's a lot of walking, going from norg to horlais peak.
