Summary

A friend of Luto has used a magical costume kit to change into a child, but now he can't return to his original form. Luto wants you to help find a way to change him back.

Walkthrough

Part 02 of The Fellowship Quest

Speak to Luto Mewrilah in Upper Jeuno to start the quest.

After you have finished the cutscene with Luto, speak with Bheem again at the zone to Batallia Downs in Upper Jeuno. You will get another cutscene when you speak to him.

Next enter Eldieme Necropolis from the (G-8) entrance in Batallia Downs. There will be a ??? spot near then zone that will start a cutscene with the NPC that you picked from the list and the little girl that you learned about in the cutscene with Luto. When the cutscene ends it will spawn a skeleton type NM named Namorodo.

Once you defeat Namorodo, speak to your fellow quickly before he/she despawns otherwise you will have to redo the battle. Your fellow will advise you that they will see the little girl back to Jeuno safely.

Now that Namorodo has been dispatched, and the little girl is back safe in Jeuno head back to Upper Jeuno and speak to Luto Mewrilah again for the final cutscene in this quest. If you have enough fame to start the next quest you will need to zone out and back in to Upper Jeuno to be able to get the next quest.

This is really pissing me off. I've tried 6 times now, unsuccessful every single time, and died twice. I don't see how everyone else makes it seem so easy. I've used up my 2hr already, that didn't help (Chainspell). Got sleep almost immediately, so most of chainspell went to waste. Incredibly difficult as a 34RDM/17WHM.

Last few times I've been using melon pies for added MP and yagudo drinks, and those are helping, but not enough.

Finally took Namorodo down on my 10th try, only because I got help from a level 75 BLM that was in the area. She didn't ever nuke, either, just cured and paralyna'd when needed, so it was still a long fight. -_-

well I am a level 20 MNK, I just finished 3-3, so I figured I would start this. I got a friend to help me (of course) and she soloed the skeleton and dragon easily (Lv 50). you also have to talk to the NPC before it disappears.
ez kill

Soloed the skellie as a 32 RDM/Whm, wearing XP gear, and with standard buffs/no food or drinks. This guy should be no problem at all to a 33 rdm (Phalanx..) or higher. 33 Mnk probably would have had an even easier time, just bring silent oils.. In short, you could do this at 30 with a competent party of 2-4.

If attempting this near the level 30 quest range, here is a few tips.

1 buy posion potion AH
2 Pamama au LAit
3 Hi-Potion x1/2/3[depends how close to level 35]

Biggest factor in the fight is to keep the NPC alive.Keep all the hate on you[provoke].The npc is weak and can die rather easily.
Drink the au lait before you click ???.Then soon after fight begins use the poison potion, and it should last whole fight. The skeleton will spam sleepga, wich is a big problem if you are slept and the NPC provokes[wich it will do].This will leave you sleeping until you are hit, wich will be too late for your npc.It might cast waterga wich did approx 180 damage to my level 40 thief,so dont wait till redline before using the HI-POTION.
For those wondering about the skeletons level,i would say this.
1 Fights like a lvl 32
2 Hit points similiar to a lvl 35
Don't forget to talk to NPC after the fight[tell it to return the mirror].

Solo'd this thing as a 30pld/15whm (tarutaru). Gazers aren't a problem if you train 'em to the zone line and let them de-pop. Gives you a couple of minutes to get the fight over with.

Actually had a harder time with this guy than I did with the dragon for pt. 3... the problem was that my ????in NPC kept getting two-shotted by Namorodo >.<

So: if you can keep your NPC from getting nail'd with consecutive Stone IIs (...on earthday in Earth weather... that might have been part of my problem come to think of it...) then this guy should be no problem for ya.

I was able to solo it as tarutaru whm44/blm22...it never broke through stoneskin XD.

I think it may be possible at 36, I still had about 250 MP left after I won...I just spammed Cure III and Banish II on it. I can't make any guarantees for you, but it's worth a shot, not a hard NM.

be warned, the Gazers around the skeleton SUCK. as a 50THF, they were EP low evasion, hitting for 20-50hp per hit. their Hex Eye move paralyzes, and badly. so badly that when i used my remeedy (to cure paralysis), i was paralyzed and the remedy didnt work.

afetr fighint gazers, i went back to jeuno and bought 3hi-pots, thinking the skeleton NM was gunnabe that ahrd.

he hit me twice. 34dmg total. hes a serious joke. to get hate off NPC, i just SA'd his sorry boney ***. honestly, this guy is soloable at 40ish for sure.
What is the level of the Skeleton NM?

Is it approximately level 40, or a lot lower than 40? I assume it must be level 30, because that's the only way level 40ish WHMs can solo it.

Thanks for any input,

Also, what is the name of the NM?

Just wanted to add in my 2gil. Did this last night as 50PLD and forgot to change my sub to WAR. Instead I went in as 50PLD/11WHM. LOL! Got aggroed by a Gazer before I started. Killed it, but it put up a good fight. The NM was a joke. I got "Namorodo is intimidated by Degamorths presence" many times. Being I was logging after I finished quest I threw up 2hr, Flash, Sentinal, Sheild Bash, Holy Circle and a few Cure II's and he dropped like a fly. Was beyond easy even with a gimped sub. The NPC got hit maybe once before I took aggro. If you are WHM...you could just Flash him and Cure III him a few times and done. Easy Quest!

I did my quest last night, but would have been so easy... at Batalia Dawn (Eldieme Necropolis), damn Gazer so close start hitting me while fighting Namorodo, eventually I died, waited for my friend to raise me, zone back to start the cutscene again while he started killing those Gazer close to the ???. at lvl 38, this quest is so easy.
easy
# Aug 30 2005 at 7:06 AM Rating: Decent
This was the easiest part of the quest, killed him in 2 hits with a 50RDM/25BLM.

Didn't see an update from anyone in awhile and I feel I'm doing fairly decent on leveling my NPC friend so I thought I'd put my two cents in for whatever they are worth.

My boyfriend (75 whm) and myself (75 war) have taken on this quest and have been working to see how far we can get our NPC friends. The NPCs are now lvl 45 which I feel is an accomplishment.

One thing to note is that originally our NPCs would only stay out for 15 kills period. Until they hit 35 it then jumped to 20 kills. I'm not sure if it's based on the amount of xp they are getting from the mobs we are killing or what but it's very consistent.

When we started xping our NPCs we started next to Rabao and the zone to the other desert - killing anything dhamels, spiders scorpians whatever. When we got them a few levels we decided to upgrade so we took our NPCs to the area in front of Castle Zvahl Baileys and killed demons and eyes there until 43 then moved to the desert on Rabao side to kill gobs there deep in the desert. (My boyfriend and myself have a theory that we need to level these NPCs on creatures that we would have at their level or higher as long as the AOEs won't kill them in the process.) We are however worried how this will all pan out when they get to a lvl that we are fighting mobs that are our xp mobs at 75 @.@;; - guess we'll figure that out then

The only frustration we have had is that we've only exchanged weapons twice and now our lvl 45 NPCs still have a lvl 10 great sword... Bleh... Anyways hope our strategy on areas where to level helps out some. If anyone has been able to trade a weapon to Luto more than twice please let me know what ya did to get that so I can get my Voldai a weapon closer to his current level.

I've compiled a guide starting with the quests to get your NPC, to fighting and upgrading. If anybody's interested, here is the link (it's on my LS forums... be warned the server crashes now and then for a few minutes).

Ok, just done this, to let everyone know the Gazer mobs will aggro your NPC, thats what happened to me and she died, however you do not have to wait, just zone out and back in and you can spawn the NM again, thats what i just did, the Gazers con as EP to me (53drk/war) but can solo them no problem.

Since nobody has mentioned this, the Gazer mobs in Eldieme will aggro your NPC and kill them if there is one there when you fight the NM, they con as EP to me (53drk) but i can solo them no problem, just a pain in the *** cuz i have to wait to respawn the NM now :/

!!! I finally beat it!

When I tried this as a Lv38 whm, I got totally owned, back when this quest was crowded. my NPC took a ton of damage from the Lv75's that kept spawning their skellies, and it wouldn't let me heal or target my npc. Needless to say, mine died.

I just tried it again as a Lv45 whm with underleveled club and evasion skill, and only lost about half my health. It seems they made some changes to this quest to actually make it possible for us whms. There were a couple other whms there that were trying to do it too and they seemed to do alright with only minor difficulty.

God our job sucks ^^

• After choosing the face type you want, you can select one of two different hair colors for your NPC Fellow. To do this, return to Jeuno Upper and talk to Bheem, at F-5 across from the Home Point. He will verify the name and face style that you have chosen. Then he asks, "By the way, this person's hair wouldn't happen to be my favorite color, would it?" The answer you choose here determines the hair color your NPC Fellow has: choosing "Could be" selects hair color A, while choosing "Not likely" selects hair color B.

• Talk to Luto Mewrilah again to complete the quest, and receive your Silver Ingot reward. Zoning is required to start the next part of the NPC Fellow quest.

I was there lvling, and when the pt disbanded I tried clicking on the ???. It said something like "There is nothing out of the ordinary here". I already saw the cut scene where my npc is talking to the little girl, why isn't this working?
Weak.

Fought 2 of them simultaneously as 46SAM/23WAR. I was helping a friend of mine get his as well as getting my own. Him being only lvl 40 war/nin, he was doing well until he realized he didnt have shihei. I voked his and finished mine off, then killed his. In the end, both skeletons dead, and I`m not even in the orange. I was hitting for 120~ per hit and Tachi:enpi did about 500damage. 2 dead in less than 1:00, not bad. :D Then we went to Sandy and fought the Dragon, owned it. Meiko Shisui brought it down to less than half hp, but the cutscene brought it back up so our NPCs could fight too xD Killed it and missed the record by 9 seconds. Vinja-Kanja is sooo cool ^^
