In-Game TextDescriptionTalk to the exorcist NPC in the city to begin the quest: Northern San d'Oria (D-8) Gertrude Bastok Markets (G-8) Brian Windurst Waters (F-5) Roger The exorcist would like to know why the spirits are roaming around and says that he cannot understand what they are saying, so he is enlisting the help of adventurers. Offer your assistance and the exorcist will give you a description of the ghost he would like you to follow and gives you several tips which lead to the following conclusions: - You must be wearing a costume to successfully do this. - The ghost cannot see you, so you must follow it and stay behind it. Find one of the NPCs dressed in a costume and trade a sweet until they award you with a costume. You can only trade one type of sweet per day. After you successfully obtain a costume, locate the ghost you were directed to find and follow it around, being careful to stay behind it. It will run around and stop occasionally, turning around looking for something. If the ghosts sees you, your costume will disappear and you will need to go get another one and start over. The ghost will ramble about things. You are not done until they say something along the lines of "You know my secret, leave me alone." Once they say this, head back to the exorcist NPC for your Witch Hat. If you speak to the Moogle Merchants while wearing the hat, you can purchase your home nation's lantern. You must wait until the next game day to try again for the second ghost. The quest is exactly the same only with a different ghost that isn't as predictable as the first. Once you discover the ghost's secret, head back to the exorcist for your Coven Hat. If you wear the Coven Hat while speaking to the Moogle merchants, you can purchase any of the three lanterns.
