And I even saw "Kakarotto" in there, that'd Gokou from Dragon Ball Z's Saijin name. I think it's all in roleplay.

How did he make that side bar appear on his chat bar, I got that to pop up once and I could never get it to do it again, I use a windower so I know it's possible.

Cill, the little bar is always on in the JP POL, since it has to do with the IME, which is disabled in NA POL.

Hmm...... That's neat.

I wonder how it works... doesn't seem like it would be beyond the client side or else you'd expect the people he passed by to be like "wtf?"...

In the 2nd video he hovers over Ahtu and there's no aggro. I wonder what the tolerance on that is, as in how far above ground you can be without aggro. Likewise, could he attack from that height?

A total cheat would be hovering just a tiny bit off the ground and attacking a mob that essentially can't fight back.

Not really suprising....it's not like FFXI is super hackprotected...all you'd have to do is tell the client to add a surface here to walk on, raise up the avatar, not too immpossible I imagine. Now, I want to know if it actually does anything server side, because people passed that guy like nothing was happening.

you know if one single NA saw that they'd go "OMG H4X!"


I hope people don't start using this **** to get to Roc and smiurgh without the slightest walk, or worse yet, mass speedhacking to claim NMs.


Although i'm sure when S-E Packs up and the only crew left is a programming team to fix bugs, and a few GMs to get you out of walls, they probably won't care.

I can tell you exactly how this was done. I have spoke to a JP on Fenrir who used to be able to do this aswell.

Over two years ago when the JP Beta was being run and I think even the NA beta there was a function in game that allowed (if you got stuck) to port to the nearest flat grounded location. Basically Square removed the system in favour of GM ports because players were simply getting to walls and using this function and porting up the walls.

However as per Square not the entire system was removed untill much later in a software patch. I.e the functionality was removed but the core of the system was still there just bypassed.

But yes even this day there are area you can port like this even still. (Airship, Ru Lude Gardens and Lower Jeuno) but flying over to Batallia Island or soaring above Windy is now impossible.
