If anyone knows how to open the ports to the FFXI and POL servers,can you let me know how to do it? Its been 3 days without goin onto ffxi and daddy needs his fix. O_o

ok ok, i just found out why my noob self couldnt get on. sry too for yelling on the post but i wanted to play lol.

i have no money on my card to support a payment for a month so i was getting declined.

but to everyone else who is having problems, check to see if ur connection is correct. like mine is comcast. ur might have nuttin and can no connect. try to configure ur settings a lil.

Ok, I was just talking to one of the techs for SE, and I found out that the problem is that we need to open some ports though Port Forwarding. I have no idea how to do that, but maybe you know because I have some of the #s but Im not sure if they will only work for me. If you know anythin about Port Forwarding and want to help get back online, just send me a msg or somethin so we can fix this damn problem.

Ever since the last update, I cant log on. I keep getting the message, "Cannot Connect to Server." What can i do to fix this? Cuz I really wanna play! >_<

wtf... i just get on cause i read on the fishing guides and they seem pretty well detailed. i wanna play so i can fish. i hate fishing but now i WANNA FISH but i CANT GET ON.

i download the playonline patches insert my id and pass. get to the billing info and hit OK.

next thing it says is to wait a few minutes before trying again for secruity perposes.

so i wait 5 mins and rehit OK. still says it. i download a few songs (10-15 mins) still says the same damn thing. fully search whms stuff on this site (20mins) and the damn thing STILL says wait...

give me a suggestion before i make FFXI fly,
fly out my damn window that is.

Sorry for double post.

I've been trying off and on for 4 hrs now. When I finally do get on all searches come up as "Search Failed". I'm invited to a pt, tele and I get stuck in the zone and POL kicks me. Log back in 3 more times, and I'm stuck at the crystal with connection probs. Am I the only one having these probs or is my frustrations shared?

i dont know what is goin on but... i left my game on "Select your character" menu. but i dont know what is goin on now cuz i am on my LapTop and my game is on PS2. ^ ^ hope everything is goin well now.

Seriously, people need to just quit complaining about the updates. They are there to help us. As far as the whole alternating the update schedule, in Japan, where everything for the game is located, is where the people doing the updates are. They update all they need to and then they go home and go to sleep while to computer updates the old with the new. I doubt the programmers and game specialists are sitting at their programming cubicals and offices all day and night long. The maintance crew on updates prolly do it before and update over night. Just chill... besides... the updates usually get done around the afternoon. Shouldn't you be doing other important things like a job, school, bills, taxes, chores, cooking, laundry during this time? Get a grip. How would you like it if they didn't update at all?

lol i would think all the users of FFXI trying to consatantly login all at once would obviously cause the server to break...

After rumaging around in the forums for a lil and seeing what everyone is getting, I refreshed this page and saw that FFXI was back up so I tried to get back on.

I got a few POL errors and tried connecting again. Really slowly getting on. Still in POL trying to retrieve messages, so I think I got father on then most of you.

But yea, as said before this is because of network congestion on POL's side. The update just ended so everyone is trying to get back on at the same time which is causing an over load for POL and not allowing connections.

Just wait it out some more.

is it just me or can no one login in to pol right now?

....they get paid by the hour........
