Ummm...
For those of you who haven't been playing for longer than a month, POL (PlayOnline) does (usually) monthly registration server updating.
Let's read this again, shall we?
The PlayOnline registration server will be unavailable due to maintenance at the following time. During this time, users will be unable to register or unsubscribe PlayOnline accounts, review or update their member information, or review, purchase, cancel, or reactivate Content IDs. We apologize for any inconvenience.
I bolded the important part; this is for subscribing or unsubscribing accounts, reviewing or updating POL member information, and reviewing, purchasing, cancelling or reactivating Content IDs. This maintenance has, to the best of my knowledge, NOTHING to do with connectivity issues, and has been, again to the best of my knowledge, a monthly occurance since I started playing the game.
Also, playing would likely be suspended if it had to do with actual connection to the servers, but the update says nothing about the game servers or the game itself being unavailable during the update.
I hope I dont sound condescending in my tone here; I have been experiencing minor connection problems as well lately, even during times of low server capacities (2500 and fewer players), which is resoundingly discouraging, but at least the servers seem more stable than the horror stories I've heard about some WoW servers.
It just seems that people are making complaints about connection issues, and the POL Maintenance for this month hasnt even occured;
