Ok..so I got a little confused about which quest was which.... only trying to be helpful.... people make mistakes. :/ guess mine was posting at all.
It was the quest before this I was thinking about...getting the water from giddeus.

Wrong info. The quest for the water and the offering are in giddeus. The quest for the gi is in mhaura.
Moreover, the quest for the gi is timed and it would be very tough to do it with those other quests.

If you want this piece of equipment for your job, then do the windurst quest Overnight Delivery.
The price of this Gi on Fairy is about 20,000-25,000 gil!
Much easier to spend a half-hour of playing to get it. Going to keep this piece of equipment a while, just got in an hour ago.

This is cheap enough from ah, around 1k at windy ah in Titan.
It cannot be enhanced or crafted. The Windurstian Gi and Fed. Gi are crafted from Mercenary's Gi, a rank 2 windy CP item. The recipe should be something like: Earth crystal, Grass thread, Grass Cloth, Mercenary's Gi. (use the same items for the other parts in the mercenary's set ie. Merc Kyahan -> Windy/Fed Kyahan)

you don't want to have lower level equip (you can keep the power Gi for the STR, and switch between them)

I kept it until I got the Mercenary Captain's Doublet at level 30.

Do the quest Overnight Delivery (must have ability to travel to Mhaura from Windy) and you'll get it. Otherwise goto Auction House
