got this item while mining today. is it really just for cooking craft? and a worthless find at all?

I just dug up two in a row with no mining gear.
I have sold them on the AH for about 1k. Not bad, but lower than Zinc nowadays.

They sell to the NPCs nicely around 400 gil if I remember correctly. I tried to sell them in the AH twice now and both times they bounced back to inbox...

Now it sell around 40 gil instead 400 gil. I have full mine gear and found 9 moles.

Yeah, they are actually quite rare in the Mines, I find, when all the mining gear is equipped. Selling on AH is indeed slow. Boytz (the Galka with the Pickaxes) will buy them.

some examples would be Boytz's nicknacks in Bastok Mines or the shop (Can't remember it's name right now) across from the Bonecraft Guild in Windurst Woods.
