Or is the latent when your TP is less than 100% like some of the other new weapons?
Its the 500Point trigger on these items.
There are no weapons that got less then 100% tp triggers. Only the JSE Earrings/Rings.

yes there is. there is a whole line of weapons that have a latent of under 100 tp. see: Maneater, axe
Works the same way as the trial weapons, but in reverse. After 500 points (EP or higher mobs) the latent effect turn on forever.

If the staff is linked to the god Dionysus, maybe the latent kicks in when a drink is active? (Dionysus was the god of wine if I remember correctly)
WOW a nie new staff for DRG i shall definately want one of these when i get high enough, it's just what is the latent affect triggered by? im guesing low hp
Or You could just save yourself some trouble and buy yourself a Primate Staff, they dead even in my eyes...
Primate has 3 more base dmg, this staff has +1% more crit power.

Or he could save himself even more trouble and get the lance version of this weapon. Heh, more specialized for DRG anyways.

This weapon is like the destroyer's, the latent effect is active til you get 500 WS points. Once you get those points it becomes a natural part of the weapon.
Almost looks like the words "Thrust" and "Stab" put together >.>

Humm, based on the mish-mash of mithologies we have in this game.... I'm going to put my money on 1.
Well, it's not Thysus, it's Thyrsus... and yes... 1 comes straightly from 2, 'cause that plant's wood was used for the staff. ;)
