Yes, price recently crashed on Midgard also, from 500k to 120k. I just picked one up for my CoP static, it will be excellent for the 50 cap missions. What a bargain.

bought this for about 700k after selling my signa for about 600k on Cerberus server 8/9/06
I just got this staff for 1.8 mill on Kujata the other day and have only done one dynamis with it equiped 100% of the time. I'm trying to figure out if the song accuracy you get from the singing skill and CHR is better than the -reist rate you get on the elemental staves. I was only resisted a few times in the whole dynamis, once on a Threnody, and I think twice on Lullaby. As far as I can remember that's less resists per dynamis than the elemental staves.
I'll continue to test this out but if anyone else has already done the testing I'd like to see what you've come up with.

Um...well...considering that the Monster Signa gives +8 chr which is roughly +4 singing skill...wouldn't it make more sense if in equipping the Chanters Staff it automatically gives you +4 singing skill plus gives you +6 chr which is roughly +3 singing skill...
I guess I'll leave that up to you to figure out. This might also make the need of using a light staff for lullaby 0...maybe. I'm still testing the theory.

Meh. I'd take Monster Signa over this in a heartbeat.
Not if you factor in the combination of skill, CHR, and lack of -VIT. Signa makes you very fragile, it's ok for XP but not great for challenging missions. This is what you need for level cap stuff.

This staff is great for BRDs and should be on every Bard's wish list. There is no other weapon with +singing skill and thats why this is so great.
Bard's always question whether CHR is better then +skill or vice versa. The fact is CHR does not do anything, I repeat anything, for your enhancing songs. Your enhancing songs doesn't benefit off of CHR one bit (ex: Charisma does not add ATT to your minuet or Charisma does not lengthen the song casted on a party member.) Charisma helps a lot with enfeebling songs (ex: Elegy, Requiem, etc.).
Chanter's staff is perfect for macro equip swapping for Minuet, Etudes, Prelude, March, etc. etc. So stick with your Light/Apollo's staff for enfeebs (except Elegy[earth] and Threnodies ^^;)

Would this be the best staff for bard? Why exactly? does singing skill make that much of a difference? I would have thought the +8 CHR would do more than +6 CHR and +4 singing skill... that's just me... if someone could enlighten me our point me to a previous thread about this, thx!
From what I've seen, and I haven't seen anything thus far to think otherwise, singing skill is song accuracy for debuff songs and may be potency for debuff/enhancing but I think that may lie more with wind/string.
CHR is also song accuracy. I believe a good rule of thumb is have 1 CHR for every 2 skill. So the more +skill you get the more +CHR you'll need to actually get your use out of it.

Mmmm...Chi Blast-y. This staff is now one of my goals for MNK for my MND gear.
Yea, this wouldn't be the best choice for Chi Blast +MND gear. It's over 2mil on my server (and likely yours also), and for a +MND weapon, you want to get a Pride Staff (+7MND) since it's only ~500K. Cheaper and bigger stat boost.

3 mil on Phoenix server.
Sells regularly 1.5 MIL on Ramuah - which I say is perfect price. It's about two times better than Monster Signa, so about two time the price (Signa 580K on Ramuh).

What a ridiculous and useless post. SE doesn't set the prices, the people who sell the item do. What exactly should SE have done to make a cheaper item? As long as it's better than Monster Signa, there's no way it's not going to be more expensive.
"Overcamped"... good one. How exactly is anyone preventing you from going and fighting this ENM battle every 5 days? No matter how many people go to that battlefield, it doesn't ruin your potential to go get one yourself.

You can't camp this... it's an ENM fight that you get to by first opening up the Monarch Linn area and then talking to the NPC in Ru'Lude Gardens. You fight in a Burning Circle-type arena, and you can only enter once every five Earth days.
They're really fun events. They don't drop as much stuff as a regular BCNM, however you always get like 2000 experience points per person, and they don't cost seals.

bought mine on quetzalcotal for 1mil flat and i have 1 of 2 that i know about.
sold my signa and love this staff
never miss a debuff as a mithra with only + 14 Chr at lvl 43. ok maybe like 1 debuff every hour or so but this + singing earring + string earring = Brd Ownage. ^^
but we'll see when that gets posted

I think this may just singlehandedly be the best weapon in game for a BRD.
This staff has Steamed Sprouts written ALL over it. :) Good luck getting one though, if you can afford to buy one you probably don't need the money from a BCNM40. ;)
