Is the chocobo equipment worth it ? How much more RL time does it give you to ride the chocobo ?
15 extra minutes RL time if you have the whole set.
for every +1 u get on the choc gear, u get 1 extra RL minute. so, on the these hose its +4, so you would get 4 extra minutes on the choco. and imo, its not worth it unless you know your going somewhere pretty far away.
Do they look red when you wear them though? Or are they greenish like the vagabond/garrison etc.?
That's what I've been trying to find out. Cause I'm a lvl 67 mnk and want a complete red outfit for the town and I'm galka to wonder pants couldn't fit over my feet lol.

edit: btw I'm was sleep deprive for a long time when writing this so if this sound gay or stupid or weird or like a drunk idiot said this. Well you would be close.

They appear red. The entire set of Chocobo/Riders gear is unique, it doesn't look like any other gear.
