Got this from the moogle after just saying give me my pressent, I did not wait at all and got this item.
Not the kind of item I was hoping for but it will come in handy at that over priced chocobo at mea.

I bought Chocobo Tickets, thinking I could ride them on my level 18 thief. It sure is a long walk from windurst back to Selbina. Atleast I know I can save them. It is just upsetting I didn't know this when I bought them, that I had to have a license first.
I tried asking around town with /shout but it is 4 in the morning here and theres no one on but japanese players so I couldn't get any assistance. hearing how chocobos don't cost much at all... I know I got ripped off for paying 5k each.
What a let down. I hope you agree. I'd have liked to know i had to have a license first before I bought these for 5000 a piece. After seeing a level 1 Red Mage ride on a chocobo this morning I was assuming that is what it was from, which is one of the reasons I bought it.
oh well, it's only my 5th day playing the game.

The lvl 1 rdm you saw riding around on a chocobo was able to do this with a Chocopass which is a ex item, can not be sold traded or brought.
These kind of tickets are diffrent from the chocobo tickets as you do not need a license or to be lvl 15 or 20, and can only be used at the chocobo stables.

These can also be obtained my returning a "Lost Chocobo" to it's stable within a certain amount of time.
Talk to a Chocobo handler and they will occasionally ask you to deliver a chocobo to it's home stable. You will be timed. Once you arrive at the gate of the the nation (Or the entrance of Sea Serpent Grotto for the Kazham to Norg delivery) they wanted you to deliver the chocobo to you will get a cutscene and will be given an item. On some of the longer runs (such as Windurst to Bastok) your Chocobo may dump you. If this happens you will not get anything. I've personally gotten Gyshal greens and Chocobo tickets.

Where do ppl get these? It they can't be solely gotten from moogle quests, several stacks of choco tickets have been sold in the past two days, 20k/stack

I was not able to ride a chocobo
I am currently doing chocobo license quest and I remembered I have 3 tickets I won from egg hunt and I tried to use one of them, but the Elvaan rejected it (I'm MNK21/WAR10) So I think you must have also a license >_>

its simple how to use it.
this is a one time use, so if u use it its gone.

just trade it to the choco person.
it could be at a crag, jeuno, windy, bastok, sandy....WHERE EVER! (yes that includes rabo)

ive heard from maney people that the day decides what color egg u get. (i want that black bead) it is a free "instint warp"

these rock, I've already saved about 2k+ because of stupid Crag Chocobo prices...3 rides and over 2k saved...it took me one extra moogle quest to get a 4 tickets, so I say do the moogle quests, it's worth it

No, you cannot use them before you have a license. So I am still unsure why people are buying them from the AH (unless they are uninformed and hoping for a ride before being level 20).
They are not stupid. I have collected twenty already from summerfest and plan on using them at the crags when I port and chocos can be as much as 900gil.

I've seen chocos over 2500 at times. These tickets can be a good thing to have if you're low on cash and not sure what the choco prices at the crag will be. By having one of these, you've guaranteed your max price is what you pay for it.

I bought these thinking that they let you ride choco's without the liscence, but its a no go, so I sold mine for 1k in bastoks AH <lakshmi>

confirmed that you must have your choc license and be of proper level.

i tried to use it to catch up with a party i was going to join and kill some maze makers, but it wouldnt let me. i was a level 14 warrior at the time. I am now stuck with 16 chocobo tickets that just will not sell at the AH. I was the first person tto ever sell one in windurst on the odin server, and i got 2000 for it, but now it sells for about 500 each
i wouldnt ever pay more than 200g per.. they just give you a free ride.. and if you pay 2k then would it not be cheaper to pay the 200g to get the chocobo?
I have personally tested this.
You CANNOT use the ticket unless you have your liscence AND are proper level. I tried ridding in Sand Oria at level 6 or DRG, with my WAR subbed, which goes to Level 30... I was not able to ride. Got the message saying I need a License and the proper level.
That is, unless I somehow was using the ticket wrong... but there is no other way to turn it in other than trading, so...

I can tell you from experience that members of my LS who could not ride a chocobo, still couldn't with the free ticket.

it should be able to work b4 u get ur chocobo lisence it would be an easy and safe way to get to jueno to do the chocobo quest, ive never tested it tho but every1 in my LS says u have to have ur lisence. Yay i saved 70 gil for a chocobo ride!!

My guess is that they dont. It just covers yoru charge for the ride. Neglecting a chocobo licence would be nice but ridiculous.
Well the ticket reads something about the chocobo stables "encouraging adventurers to earn their chocobo license." i'm sure wording is off on that, but it did imply that you didn't need the quest to be done in order to use the ticket.
