Okay okay, I sorta agree with the whole Bard AF Is a POS But I like the looks.. and I am going to use it till I can get my Minstrels Coat.. (That could take awhile)So Needless to say.. Its okay, but not the best.
quick question, if i activate the quest with my bard, then go to open the coffer as thf, will i get the bard item,?? or do i have to get a key??

Anyways, was easy to get, Coffer Key drops from most of the mobs you fight on the Lower Floor, and I then went to hunt my Coffer and found it in the "Other" side of Crawlers Nest - You know the area where people Camp for partying when you go down the Tunnel on the left, well go down the tunnel on the right and Hey Presto! about 6 coffer spawn points. Agreeably one of the easier coffers to get.

this my be a dumb question, but i have a 53 whm, and a 54 brd. i need the coffer in the nest for both jobs. i quit whm long ago... so how do i stop from getting my whm af so i can get my brd af? if anyone knows, plz post

I tried this tonight, lvl 50 brd, af2 quest gotten (tho not finished) other quest with whats his pickle for one of the other pieces started, get to the nest, find the chest, open the chest.... and 8500g -.- the question is, what am I doing wrong!?

This is completely untrue. Check the AF thread in the BRD forum, it is correct.
AF1: Lv 40 req.
AF2: Lv 50, AF1 completed
AF3: Lv 50, AF1 & 2 completed.
AF4: Lv 50, AF1 & 2 completed, AF6 active.
AF5: Lv 50, AF1 & 2 completed, AF6 active.
AF6: Lv 50, AF1 completed, AF2 active.

Treasure Coffer... not a chest....
Got this last night in Crawler's Nest, while doing a LS AF Coffer/Chest Hunt for people's AFs and farming. Nice thing to bring is a scroll of Instant Warp. I found the Coffer right behind a nice Rumbler Crawler, and had to do the following:
1. Cast Sneak to get to room
2. Change to Mary's Horn & Cast Foe Lullaby on Crawler
3. Trade key to coffer to open
4. Re-sleep the Crawler when it wakes up
5. Use a scroll of Instant Warp to get outta there ^^
Definately dont want a train of Rumbler Crawlers and Labyrinth Lizards running around behind you.

yes, not that great, what else are you gonna wear at this lvl? nobles ribbon still? how boring ... after this hat GL getting Opoopo Crown .. lots of work :/
Now that I'm getting my af....I can't help but wonder why? I mean....stop and think about it for a second...why? Why does the bard af suck? I wasn't thrilled about my boots, but you know I wore them around town cause hey I just got my af2, but I can't wear them in battle ; ; +5 evasion, +5 agi and +10 wind woohoo. Now this mushroom posing as a hat...parrying skill? I mean none of the gear even adds MP, but you know SE knows that us bards want MP and not HP cause that new Sha'ir gear adds CHR and MP...why...why SE why?
The sad truth is that Bards don't have MP. If you stop to think about it, the Bard class doesn't use any MP at all. It's the subjobs of BRD that use MP. And, since they probably can't 'assume' you're using a subjob that has MP, the AF doesn't add to the non-existent MP pool of a Bard.
Strip the subjob away from a bard and pretend that you have no subjob, then make an item. I would have more CHR bonuses... But it doesn't seem to be what we've gotten.

Crawlers Nest Coffer. Keys are dropped by Crawler Knights, Helm Beetles, and Crawler Hunters. I was able to get a key while lvling with a group from lvl 51-53 fighting Crawler Knights. This coffer can be opened anytime after AF2 quest has been completed.

You do not have to complete AF2 to get this out of the coffer. I started my AF2 quest, but have been unable to complete because none of my friends are on at the same time *grrr*. I just popped my coffer today and got the hat.
Honestly, though, I'd rather have the slippers than the hat...

Just to confirm: You must be a bard to get this hat when you open the coffer. I found that out yesterday. I went as my whm to keep sneak and invis going... and when i finally found the coffer, I received a Hi-reraiser (;_;)
A most disappointing moment! But I thought since I had finished my AF1 (Paper knife) quest as my whm, I thought this would be no different. Just a reminder to other bards out there^^
