so right now im a 75 nin and im running 11% haste off my gear. someone tol me today that their is a 20% haste gear cap. does anyone know anything about this?
Walahra Turban: 5%
Byakko Haidate: 5%
Swift Belt: 4%
Dusk Gloves: 3%
Fuma Sun-ate: 3%
That's basically the max haste a 75NIN can (reasonably) obtain. With speed belt and dusk+1 he could get up to 23%.

right, but i heard that after 20% the gear haste % doesnt affect you anymore just spells.

just noticed something, are we sure its 25%? because the latent on the shinobi earring is 20% and the shinobi ring is what, 4%? so that leaves only 1% for someone to use if they are useing those.
There is so many Sune-Ate in the model viewer but nothing specifically Fuma Sune-Ate. What colour are these or which model are they similar to? Are they red?

EDIT: Nvm I found the answer out to this. They are like Rasetsu Sune-Ate. I hope someone else will find this useful.

Actually, these are purple, so if you wanted to represent these in Model Viewer, you should choose the Arhat's Sune-Ate.

hark, a fuma kyahan +1....sorta
is this really necessary though? most people only get the fuma kyahan for the haste+3%, and it's exactly the same on the sune-ate. the only difference is the HP and AGI boosts, which i admit are quite nice, but still, i'd just save my money and get the kyahan.

Funny thing is that right now on midgar these sell for less (about 1.1m) than the kayahan (1.7m). That alone makes these worth getting for us Midgardians.

And more defense. That's likely to be the main reason that a 72 NIN would pick these up over Fuma Kyahan.

the words "defense" and "ninja tank" are completely seperate, a ninja tanks by not taking hits (evasion/parry) and from shadows (recast/haste). defense doesn't matter hardly at all, of course you dont want to wear lvl 1 gear @75 cause your a nin, just that its the agi and hp that make this a nice piece, not the def. Now for a SAM or MNK they would be looking at the Def indeed.

i hope you do realize shadows dont last forever even with high haste and eva all ninjas get hit at some point so when your wearing some uber low defense gear and your in a party screamng at a whm "wtf u didnt cure me i got hit 5 times?!?!" and he goes "u went from 1k-0 hp in 2 secs stfu kthx" then you'll wish you had a decent amount of def to cover up for the in between shadow recast down points or spell interruptions that occur often in exp/merit parties and even end game raids. defense is vital to any job that includes having the butcher's attention when your putting your meat on his table, no matter how untouchable you can be. the only way to really defend your point is if u have a significant amount of haste to have a constant flow of utsu or a huge eva skill increase the chance of getting hit is still something to count on in any situation when holding hate.
and in response to the comment about a sam or mnk needing this defense more, yes that would be the case in most situations but any good samurai would not use this foot piece over a good STR/DEX piece or something to boost their DMG/w.s.DMG over haste, haste is not important to samurai as much as heavy damage, and as for monk, the haste is great and some mnk i see do use this but most go for wu long or dune boots over this and referring to the fact that this sune-ate is so overwhelmingly targeting the ninja audience, neither sam nor mnk would need these for defense when there r higher defense and eva and str and all sortsa of better feet armor out there at this lvl when in a party with a good ninja that should be holding hate in the first place.

hes right im 75thf 75nin on caitsith and i can tell you that no matter what your fighting shadows will go down and you will get hit, any kind of AOE magic erases shadows completely and **** like goblin rush which takes 3 shadows can be deadly when exping. mobs with double and triple attack can take your shadows in a matter of seconds. DEf does matter for a ninja cuz **** goes wrong. like you cancel Ni to late and ichi is wasted and Ni is down. then what... your standing with nothing between you and mob but your DEF. so you throw on defender and cancel Zerk real quick and pray your whm is awake. so unless you have like Haste+50% and an ungodly amount of evasion count on getting hit. saying DEF doesnt matter is wrong. lvl72+ Fuma sun-ate > Kyahan..

its all in the AGI and HP boost! Def as nothing to do with it! a Nin want's the best Haste + Agi + Hp! weather you get hit 120dam with Kyahan... it's the same dam you'll recieve with those cause Nin's dont have natural Def to really make it a difference!
should make more +haste gear for jobs besides these.
theres a lot of haste crap for lots of jobs, look thru ah again
