I'm currently using it for Blue Mage and it's definatly a good blade.
When I went to kill Ifrit Prime, I had only a SMN but unfortunatly we died several times. We then decided to try BLU70/WHM35, MNK75/NIN37 and WHM75/BLM37
and died once then succeeded the next attempt. As you can see, it was a rather hard fight for us but we killed him in the end.
Seeing as I'm a Tarutaru, the extra attack really helps.
I'd recommend it to any BLU65+.

well, noone on the above posts posted it, so ill do it. BLU can use this sword, and IMO its one of the best BLU swords out there.

I had this a really long time ago, before blue mage was even out, and I threw it away because I didn't have any use for it... I quested it again just now, If you have gotten it and thrown it away you will not be able to quest for it again.

I just got it last week, and its my favorite sub weapon as a WAR/NIN, but i'm dissapointed about the Additional effect: "Fire Damage", it works good with goblins out kahzam, but it doesnt work with T,VT or IT´s ¬¬
I've been thinking that this may deppends on your att and the mob's def ...or something like that~

Actually it does work. Just not as often against mobs who are not weak to fire. All thou it will go "Off" from time to time, it may not go off on a monster if it is stronger than your Attack, fire resistance, or def, or as often. I off-hand it all the time also. and when it Fire Damage hit's, you'll know it. This may not be any affect. But entrust your STR rings with the Fire element with it doesn't hurt either.
The times I seen it go off on {Incredible Tough} Mobs, was 12-26 additional damage. all thou it was rare to see as a Kindred seal landing in your inventory out of 12 people. lol But it's well worth it.

Why is it that there are "All Jobs" clubs and staves but not a single "All Jobs" Sword or Greatsword huh?
Hell, even if it SUCKED (like the Chaosblade for unlocking Dark Knight) I would LOVE to be able to see my Summoner with a sword...

smn can use rune blade but it drains mp and we have no native sword skill

You can also use many of the Bilbo model weapons on blm. In fact for fun when farming for anima for Proms, I have gone blm/nin and used two Smalls Swords.

It is popular among 65-75 warriors in off hand for tp, and stats, also added fire damage is 20-40 and kicks in fairly often
Mage jobs can't use it, it might not be the best sword in the game, but. . . if your a melee job looking for a sword for (if nothing else) skill ups, this -free- sword with 3str, 10attk, and additional fire dmg is nice.
Delay on this is nice, dmg isn't bad (I'm used to daggers mind you), and additional attributes are pretty sweet.

the smn gets the avatar. if there was nothing but the avatar as reward no one would ever help smn get the avatars, that's why these exist...as incentive to help

... swords are the basic weapon, many jobs can use it very well, war is good as rdm and pld with a sword.

I disagree swords are A+ weapons for PLD not for WAR and RDM... therefore for isnt as good as PLD with a sword ^^;

What are you talking about? Not a good sword? It has decent dmg and a lower delay, mostly the added strength is a huge plus and the added attack makes up for part of the dmg. Ranger endgame when strength means everything it is a good substitute for the woodsville axe, which I might add goes for 1mil to 4 mil. It is a free sword that is comparable to the woodsville axe. A win win situation.
what about when they are doing spirites within ws hnm battles. i believe that sam would then prefer this over a Gkatana and awarrior aswell.

the delay makes up for the damage, axes might be about 276 to 312 delay with about 44 to 50 damage, but this offhand, quick tp gain, +3 STR, +10 attack, i can care less about the damage it gives as long as the delay is equivalent or lower than my main weapon, very nice weapon gained by an avatar battle.

this weapon (me thinks) is by far the best weapon that you can recieve by beating an Avatar. The other wepons are like a staff that adds to DEX. A mage doesn't need DEX as much as a melee fighter needs STR.
I may be miss reading... but mages can't use this weapon. >_>
You get him wrong. what he's saying is that the mage weapons (staff) adds to DEX, which he say they don't need. But melee fighters need STR.
garuda's dagger is good for thfs, and for the jobs that can use this, none of them really should. Bst and war should use axe or gaxe, Drk should use a gsword or scythe, Ranger should use daggers or something with agi or rng acc, and sam of course should be using great katanas.thf is the only job that i can see using this, and thats only for soloing or thf/nin in his off hand, but still other weps are much better.

agreed....it's not a very good sword....the garuda's dagger is nice, and shiva had a decent hth weapon. This weapon is more for show, to say "I already have Ifrit, and have done the avatar fight enough to get something purely ornimental out of it." If you want a DD sword or offhand sword, there's better to be had.

As a thf main, I don't plan on playing SMN at all, and I have gone on a few avatar fights just to go with friends working on their avatars, and I usually just pick up a item from them (or save the whisper if there is no good item like Levitation).
For my THF, the only sword I have bought and kept so far is the Greed Scimitar for the 7dex. . . while this sword is another I plan to keep.

PS: Garuda dagger is key for THFs imo as an offhand dagger for quite a few levels.

He was Adding in the Greed also which is +7 dex
