The best part of Final Fantasy XI is its rich storyline. It separates this game from other MMORPGs. I chose to give my character a storyline that goes along with the game's storyline. I find that this is a more fun way to play the game. Playing the game just to fight in the endgame and collect elite equipment is very boring and is totally missing the main objective of the game, which is to guide your character through the storyline which is to save the world.
This is definitely better than lolSuppanomimi for Paladin because it has the word 'Knight' in it and Paladins are supposed to be Knights relying on armor and shield, not some lousy far-eastern tool

Did you notice that NONE of these earrings are any really good for a WHM job? The ONLY one would probably be the Knight's Earring... but even THAT is not a good replacement for any MP+ from other earrings... phht..
Be happy your not a smn, because if you were it woldn't be none are "any really good," it would be none are of any use at all. I plan on beastly for my up and coming bst, then getting my mage love from Apoc Nigh ^^
if you're a paladin and you're thinking, hey 2 VIT i can use that, take a look around at other earrings. mercenary earring has a 2 VIT latent effect that works whenever you sub warrior, and titanis earring has 1 VIT and 1 AGI(plus that damned enmity+ that youll never get to use because bards hate you). if you're sitting here going, well i want that 1 extra VIT, my advice to you is go buy a robust earring. if you're powerful enough to do this mission im pretty sure you've got lots of ways to get the gil needed for a robust earring. plus you can always boost your shield skill with merit points, but there aint nothin gonna help you with dual wield
With Shield mastery, this earring is pure win. This earring, af boots, shield torque, and buckler earring would be just awesome for Swrd/Shld PLD. Titanis is a crap earring if I ever seen one. Try and get a Brd to use Minne on you, they will just look at you funny, and then cast ballad again.
#REDACTED,
Posted:Sep 25 2005 at 5:50 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Youre a tard. 1-4 Vit at that level range means a whole lot less than 30-75 HP. I have a cassie and a bloodbead. Thats 75 hp. At just 73 I have +53 Vit. Past 70 Vit ceases to mean as much as HP and at 55 DEF ceases to mean as much as Vit. I could have close to +70 VIT with 1200 hp and it would mean a WHOLE LOT less than +50 VIT and close to 1600 HP. I hate people who have a mountain of theory and a molehill of actual experience on the matter. This is a good earring but its not as good as others you can equip for xp parties and end game usage. PERIOD!
Probably 90% of the people I've seen with any of these earrings have the Suppanomimi (sp? The dual-wield, sword skill one). I am a PLD, and have always thought that this was the better earring for me, but now I'm beginning to have doubts. I've seen a lot of PLDs with the Suppanomimi (on Carbuncle), so I'm wondering if the sword skill is worth it.
Or perhaps they just use it for other jobs? I know at least one of the PLDs I've seen wearing it also has his NIN at lv 75, so perhaps he got it with that in mind. Any thoughts?
I'm not sure for others, but I chose this earring. PLDs primary function isn't to deal damage, it's to absorb it. Most of the other hi-level PLDs that I know equip VIT, MP, or HP (for HNM) gear.
I prefer VIT, so I have this and a Merc. Earring. For rings I have a Jelly Ring, and now, a Defending Ring (I got very lucky with this drop... only 5 on my server), however, I used to use a Soil Ring I have 3/5 Koenig pieces currently (Head, Hands, and Legs), so my Vitality is extremely high: 73+64 with Tav Tacos. With my Terra Staff and other physical - equipment, I get hit for considerably less than many other tanks.
Just my .02, but I highly recommend this earring and another Vit +2 earring, unless wearing HP earrings.
Actually, a high level pld is better with HP in the ear slot for End-games activities, and for XP/merit party, he actually need to deal damage to keep hate, so the +5 sword would be better (and AGI is still a very good boost for damage reduction)
HP in the ear slot is a waste. How much can u get? like 50 hp total? WASTE. Thats like 1/2 - 1/3 of a hit. That will not keep u alive even one evrat attack?! Get the VIT and and rock!
This earring is a reward from the Divine Might quest. There are 5 earrings to choose from, and you must pick one.
There are two versions of the Crystal Warrior (Ark Angel) battles -- killing them individually (one at a time) with a single party, or killing all 5 of them in a single battle with a full alliance. Divine Might is the version of killing all 5 of them in a single battle. It is one of the most difficult battles in the game.
You can only receive 1 of the 5 earrings offered, and you can not repeat the quest to receive another one.
You can repeat the quest to get multiple earrings, the only stipulation to that is that you have to complete the remaining Zilart Missions before you will be allowed back into the Divine Might BC.

u can repeat this quest to receive multiple earrings? everywhere i have read u can only collect one earring. i am trying to find out if u can trade ur earring in for another.
(unfortunately for those with many jobs...) no, you can't. as soon as you select an earring you're done - it isn't possible to ever get another for the same character.
In order to get this earring you need to beat the Crystal Warriors. You have a choice of this as well as 4 other earrings when you finally defeat them. Once you choose one of the earrings, you cannot go back and choose another one. But you don't get this in Dynamis.
