Koenig Cuirass  

Just got this today its very nice im on Garuda.

OMG my dream set. I am 75 bst 60 pld right. Pld 75 having bst sub would be awesome. pld/bst would be able to charm about anything with this gear and apollo staff. And could pld/bst tank some hnm. Charm you can use as a provoke(especially with 60+ charisma and little bit enimty gear)10 or 8 sec recast. Killer effects are godly with tatami shield and bikini shell and you have bst sub that has killer effect boost.

How do I make this?

Do I need a high level craft? if so... which one?

*sigh* if it was true that CHR affects hate.... then you would have alot of hate in valkram dunes while PLing... and stupid ppl voke it off me all the time... Nin/War and War/mnks...

A lot of people on here are saying that Chr effects the strength of Provoke or the amount of hate you get (like 2 Str gives 1 Attack), or the rate at which hate decays.

None of this is right.

Paladins hold hate easier on HNMs because melee DD/BLMs aren't doing 1.5k weaponskills/spells, and hitting for 200 a swing. They may do a 500dmg WS and a 700 damage spell, while hitting for 40 damage a swing.

They lose hate less wearing this set because they aren't getting hit for as much. When you get hit you lose hate, if you get hit for less damage, you lose less hate.

Hundreds of tests have been done, such as Brd/War with +60Chr trying to voke off a Warrior with +2 Enmity for example. They couldn't do it.

What is the Chr on Koenig for?

The Chr stat on Koenig armor is for Intimidations when you have Killer Effects.

But Rellinger, PLDs only get Undead Killer and there aren't any Undead HNMs!

This is true, but with gear such as Hrotti, Tatami Shield, and various Killer Earrings (such as Demon Earrings) and this armor set, you will be able to Intimidate HNMs that may hit you for 200~ a swing. It's basically an extra free paralyze that stacks with the spell.

If you want to find out more, maybe you should actually read the Paladin forums, where they talk about this kind of thing?

this armor is awesome for a PLD tanking HNMS and other Heavy stuff so stop complaining about the CHR ! much CHR is good to hold hate ^^ look at stupid NIN/WAR <.< they cant hold hate very good if the BLM is a stupid nuker cuz NIN/WAR CHR isnt that good as PLD CHR .....

u have to fight hnm's for this krazy armor and hope the correct Abj. drops, it can't be crafted >.> I have two pieces myself but I dont imagine I'll be getting anymore. But I want M. abj body sssooooooo bad! /cry. Oh well...

a pld with full koenig = invincible
ultimate defense
ultimate weakness
great armor for hate and pld defense
but not great for dealing damage
wouldnt recomend wearing whole set when soloing mobs or xping
ya a paladin isnt a DD but hey they gotta do some damage
spirits within, vorpal blade, swift blade, savage blade
awesome ws and a pld without them doesnt look as cool >.>b

ok when i first saw this i thought omg its a crafted item and its rare/ex that means i have to have a high lvl craft myself - then i saw it was "purifying" what exactly is this? im not a high lvl pld but would like to know exactly how i get this armour family - thanks

Imagine "hate" being a full meter, the higher CHR you have...the slower that meter will fall.
It is better for hnms bcuz the fights are obviously alot longer then an xp mob, so in xp pt its in no way "bad" but there is better.
I wouldnt kno how a plds performance in full koenig with E.Staff and tav Taco would be cuz i dont have it all ; ;
and in ballista if you can land your voke [not too common] it would be a very big help with it all on ^^

Please answer my few questions.

1. Wouldn't this Armor be more of an HNM or Dynamis kinda armor? cuz it does bring you down alot more then we alrdy are in the PLD DMG department.

2. If i was to equip this whole set, have an Earth Staff, and Tav Tacos would I take ANY DMG when i exp XD lol im curious Cuz i dunno im only lvl 60PLD =P

3. Cuz this work in ballista? Why or why not.

I'm just gonna throw this out there since NOBODY has yet that I've seen. SE, in their report about CHR affecting Hate and Agrro, which it doesn't, they said it affects some weapon skills. In particular, it affects Light based weapon skills. Skills such as Seraph Blade, Spirits with in, and if you have the pleasure of wielding Exaclibur, it'll also affect the Knights of the Round WS that you are granted. The armor grants so much CHR to PLD who wear it since their WS will do so much more damage that it'll make up for the lack of punch on a 'normal' attack. I still don't understand why nobody else has mentioned this as of yet.

All you people crack me up i came to find out more about hnm . all i here is people that think they know what pld needs and know one no's for sure what the hell chr for. I dont think se know either. but if any one could post some usefull info here that be great.Since i dont know where this nm spawns or what kinda group is needed to take it down.ty

To be able to craft this from the cursed armor, do you have to have a certain crafting skill, or will it succeed every time?

EDIT: is there also a crystal involved?
