if u wanna know it finaly. here is a german guy. and he say koenig (könig) means king in german and handschuhe... u will know what i wanna say. yes it means gloves. so: koenig handschuhs means king gloves. (^.^)
or maybe is SE playing games with us even more so then they already do and it actually means "Gloves of the King"

Like others said before me Koenig (König) is German for king. Handschuh = Glove

Koenig Handschuhs are uncursed armor. Specifically, they are the uncursed version of Cursed Handschuhs. Cursed Handschuhs are crafted from the following recipe:
Goldsmithing (96)

Darksteel Gauntlets
2x Platinum Ingot
Cermet Chunk
To uncurse Cursed Handschuhs, you need a Martial Abjuration: Hands. This drops off Genbu fairly often, though certainly not 100%. Take both the Cursed Handschuhs and the abjuration to Alphollon C Meriard in the Cathederal in North San D' Oria and he will uncurse the handschuhs into Koenig Handschuhs.
Note: if the crafter HQs the handschuhs, the result is Cursed Handschuhs -1. When uncursed (using the same abjuration), those become Kaiser Handschuhs.

koenig is the german word for king. it has nothing to do with star trek... in other news I just got a pair of these myself ^^;;

No, cursed armor is just that -- cursed armor. Relic/AF2 set is dropped from monsters in Dynamis.
I've seen a 75 PLD on Diabolos with the full set of this. I won't mention his name for his privacy but if you look around, you'll find him.
