Woohoo, got my coffer, but of course haunt standing right over it. Even better, starts out casting stonega III on me, so my blink just goes kaboom ; ;.
But no, there is no quest for the map, just use the key on coffer and you've got the map.

As far as i know i didn't have a quest active, all i did was just pop the coffer and bam! there's my map, the link below is the map i used to find it, it's pretty good. Btw be careful of that blasted dragon in there if it's running riot it's a pain in the rear killed half my party, good thing i went to go get my coffer key.

need to activate a quest to get map from coffer or just use coffer key on coffer?
You get this, as stated, by opening a Treasure Coffer inside Kuftal Tunnel. If you already have an AF quest active here, I believe the AF has higher priority than the map. Not positive.

You're at the bottom of the first map when you first enter Kuftal from the north part of Western Altepa Desert (forgot the exact grid).
