you guys haven't even scratched the surface of the potinatial this weapon yeild, BLU/NIN with 2 of these would have 4 MP/tick(job trait and sancions), that basicly translate into free head butt burn. which basicly mean you could solo the world...(insert evil laugh here)
While I somewhat agree with this being useless for SMN. I did try this club as SMN/NIN with a Kraken Club in off hand. While it dosen't keep carby completely free when solo'ing or farming.. it does knock off 1 extra MP tick (also helps having your other -perp/refresh gear) plus you can spam the club MP regain weapon skill more often that fights off Carby's -perp in the long run. Throw in a high level NPC and you have a decent lil party. ^^
First off, BLM/NIN has the third highest int scores out of any sub therefore adding +20 int from these clubs definatly outways any other sub for maximum int. The Elemental staves of course are still far superior. However not so much for a RDM. Seeing as a RDM/NIN can dual whield these bad boys to increase the effectiveness of all of their spells wether it be phalanx, stoneskin, gravity, slow, en{spells}, nukes or cures. In addition to the RDMs ability to haste themselves the latent would prolly be active all the time save after any weaponskills. With en{spells} being the primary source of dmg on a RDM/NIN as it is these clubs provided you have 2 of them would allow RDM to have 3 MP a tic from gear plus their own refresh the extra 2 MP a tic is definatly the bonus that a RDM wants after sacrificing the amount of MP for NIN sub.
Simply put this weapon makes RDM/NIN and even better solo job than it already is. The latent will be more than easy to obtain for a RDM. WHM meh BLM meh SMN NO WAY. There is no benifit in having this as a SMN. The elemental staves already lower perpetuation and if your thinking of poping this on for curing think again your not a WHM nor do you wanna be up in melee range to get TP for this latent.
A BLM dual whielding these would be ok for the int bonus but if you have your elemental staves your wasting money{and your MP because you will loose quite a bit of dmg}.

Um. . ..lol
Since when does either INT or MND influence the effect of slow, phalanx or gravyity. . . .MND DOES increase stoneskin and Paralyze. . .but that's about the only real bonus you'll see. INT will increase the base dmg of your nukes, but a rdm who wants to nuke wouldn't go /nin, not talking about the overly inferior nuking ability of a rdm.
Also. . .the only club a rdm would seriously wield for solo melee would be kraken, alot of swings will result in hits sooner or later. Ppl shouldn't forget that a rdm75 has a meager 210 club skill compared to 250 dagger/sword. So everything a rdm could easily hit with a club would be too weak to bother w/ int/mnd stats. . .
. . .this forum blows, whenever i try to edit my post it sends me to edit the original post which is obviously not made by me -.-

If the tiers are 80, 79, and 77.... and blm/nin is 77... then yes, it is the third highest. And it's tied for third, not fifth. What was the point of all that?
O.K. TehMoS you have some sorta brain malfunction. Where are you getting fifth? According to NotBrandon's information the highest INT score is 80. The next highest is 79. The third highest INT score is 77. If BLM/NIN has an INT score of 77 than it has the third highest INT score! NotBrandon you have an even bigger brainmalfuntion for 2 reasons! First reason beaing; your name is "NotBrandon!" Thats not a name, thats saying what your name isn't. Second YOU posted the info, you of all people should have noticed that your contradicting yourself! 79 INT is 79 INT! There is no order in which the jobs go that would make one job with a score of 79 3rd behind a job that is in 2nd with a score of 79! That's just idiocracy. Go to school nuckleheads, before your brains turn into mush and you lose them!

Ok idiot. Time to learn how to count.
We have one SJ that gives a base INT of 80, 3 that give a base INT of 79, and then /NIN gives a base INT of 77.
So if we put these in order, we have SJs that give:
80 79 79 79 77
Now, count the number of SJs that have higher INT than /NIN. 1... 2... 3... 4...
That doesn't even make sense. The point of all this was which tier /NIN fell into, not how many other jobs fall into higher tiers. The question was regarding 80, 79 and 77 INT. /NIN falls into the 77 category. That is the THIRD tier. When there are three jobs that tie for second tier, that doesn't make 77 the fifth tier, nor does it make NIN subjob fifth on the list. This is not the Winter Olympics, so three jobs who tie for second place are all second place. All jobs who fall into the 77 category are all third place. So on. So forth.
This is what you are thinking:
BLM/??? - 80 INT First BLM/??? - 79 INT Second BLM/??? - 79 INT Third BLM/??? - 79 INT Fourth BLM/??? - 77 INT Fifth
This is how it works when you're not awarding gold, silver, and bronze medals:
BLM/??? - 80 INT First BLM/??? and BLM/??? and BLM/??? - 79 INT Second BLM/??? - 77 INT Third
The idea that 79 takes up three tiers is foolish. You aren't using mode statistics when thinking. The way your reasoning follows, if five students take an exam, they would each receive a letter grade of A, B, C, D, and F unless they scored the exact same. Four could score 100% and tie for the A grade, and one could score 99%, but the one who scored 99% would make an F on the exam. Or reversed, if one scored 10%, and the others scored 0%, then you would have the 10% Student score an A, and the other four score B's even though all five of them failed the exam.
Get it now? You can't judge items in a linear manner without considering the modes (repeated values) placed in the same location on the list. This goes the same for comparing the three values in the 79 tier. They all have 79 INT, so you can't say that one is higher up than the others, because the only thing you are comparing is INT, thus making the thought of #2, #3, and #4 being taken up by subjobs granting 79 INT completely useless unless you randomly chose which of the three subjobs goes above the others on the list. Or perhaps you should put them in alphabetical order, but that may confuse the Japanese who play, because they don't use latin letters.
In any case, /NIN is in the 77 INT tier. Which puts it in third place. Which makes the extra 10 INT from dual wielding wands invaluable.
Looking at the wand and how the latent effect works I think it could work in some ways as an alternative to earth staff in the WHM GK5 fight simply because you don't need to dmg maat so having your tp turned to mp would be a good thing. Of course the flip is that you will take a sizeable amount of dmg that you wouldn't take when using an earth staff.
Maybe for a BLM or SMN Elemental Staves are better. But as a WHM, in most parties I only use the Dark Staff and Light Staff, and for the most part I use My Holy Maul +1 and Holy Shield for the MND becuase, I use Regen and Regen II to keep my party healed until they start getting seriously hurt(in yellow or less.) So, in actaul battle I would use this untill someone needs a cure.
Just killed this guy w/ about 9 lvl 70+. Dropped Water Crystal, Plat. Beastcoin, Pheonix Feather, Chunk Mythril Ore, White Mage Test., and most importantly Mistilteinn. ^^ Kinda surprised on the clubs drop cuz we had no /thf or main thf.
while its true ud get more INT and MND, u wouldnt get any new spells. Really RDM and SMN would be the only ones who could do that, and you prbly wont at that lvl anyway
this is weapon has only been sold two or three times on my server i think. not quite sure about the price exactly cause i need to go back and check but it was somewhere between 15-50 mil from what i can remember. this weapon sounds awesome but i know that ill never be able to enjoy the luxury of actually being to equip it cause im a broke mage. it makes me cry just thinking about ; ;
In Norse mythology, there is a story about the god Baldur, in which his mother, Frigg, in response to a dream he had, requested an oath from all things in the world that they promise not to harm her son. The only thing she did not ask was "Mistilteinn", a fig plant, but nowadays considered to be mistletoe. She did not ask either because she did not consider it a threat or because it was too young to give its oath.
As a game, the gods would throw things at Baldur and watch as they bounced off harmlessly. The god of trickery, Loki, hated Baldur, and talked Baldur's brother, Hod, into throwing a dart made from (you guessed it!) Mistilteinn, which Loki directed into piercing Baldur's heart, thus killing him.
Some of the details might be a bit off, but that's the story... the end ^.^
Pretty close. The reason Frigga never asked the Mistiltienn to partake in the oath was because it was too soft to actually kill Baldur. So, once everything but it had sworn the oath, the other gods in their games would throw rocks and shoot arrows at Baldur and watch as they all veered away or stopped before hitting him. Loki took the Mistiltienn and magically hardened it, then gave the dart to his blind brother, Hod, to throw at Baldur in the games.
Continuing with the story, after Baldur died Frigga struck a deal with the goddess of the dead - if every creature alive shed a tear for Baldur's death, he would be brought back to life. Every creature shed a tear save for one, an old hagg named Thokk. She refused to shed a tear asking what he ever did for her. What was unknown to Frigga, though, was Thokk was Loki in disguise, and thus the God of light and joy was lost to the world.
the latent effect is based off TP. If you have TP, the latent effect will be active. It will continously drain TP until you have none. It is not based off rdm sub...
very rare availablity in auction house on asura, goes for about 3.5 when it is available
not sure what activates the latent effect but a blm i know said he put it on and it worked (the refresh), i'd consider getting it if i understood the latent effect better
