In the AH, it says that only summoners may equip it, but I've seen my share of BLMs and WHMs using it. Also, when you sort the shields by job, it still shows up as a BLM item, even though it's labeled summoner only.

Actually BLMs can use a few shields- the first one being the faerie shield at lvl 29. There aren't many but yes, BLM, cn use shields
