I went to the AH and bought this for 40,000 gil. I thought it was an awesome idea. Unfortunately, you have to wait ten minutes between each recast and only get to use it 20 times. Once it's out of charges, these are normal boots. Way too expensive, unless it costs 10k, don't buy it.
I just wanted to also say these things can be life savers. 2 times they saved my life while playing as BST copied and pasted from my post "Powder Boots Vs. Reraise Gorget" on the BST forum:
First time I was charming Lizards in Crawler's Nest, and fighting Worker Crawlers. This time I had forgotten to use my equip macro to put on my Monster Signa and other Charm gear. Mischarm, and immediately all the Lizards turn towards me. As fast as lighting (as fast as I could any ways :P) I hit my macro to use them and ran to the zone to Rolanberry Fields.
Second time I was charming Caveberries in Crawlers Nest and fighting Nest Beetles and Soldier Crawlers. Again I forgot to use my equip macro for extra Charm. Mischarm, 10 berries all turn toward me. Immediately I hit my macro and flee away from them. I didn't feel like causing a big train and didn't want the Soldier I was fighting to kill anyone after I zoned it, so after my flee effect wore off, I knew I had a few seconds, and use my Instant Warp scroll to warp back to Jeuno.
What if you use Flee and then use these, does it stack, i.e. do you move 2x faster than flee?

unfortunately no you cant stack them, just like the similar concern of whether Chocobo Mazurka and Flee can stack...if you have the strider boots and use flee i think it will stack, but ive heard different stories on that...i dont know anyone whos actually bought them before o.o
For whatever reason, when i equip and use these boots, I only gain flee for 12-13 secs, not the full 30 secs mentioned on the item. I have no clue why, i've timed it mulitple times. Great item to have around, I doubt i'll buy another pair until this timer is fixed, provided that is what the problem is.
umm the item dosent list how long the effect lasts.. those timers are for how/when can you USE the item. that 30 seconds listed is 'How long must i wear them before i can use them'
The way I have heard to recharge an item (though I have never done it, I don't have the sufficient crafting skills to make a charged item like this) Is to resynth it. I realize that then the question is "what is the recipe?" I think it might be like the process or makeing a +1 version I have heard a fable of, which I havent actually even gotten hard cold evidense.
These things are absolutely my favorite charged item in the game. Well worth the 40k (on Bahamut) I will keep buying these until I can make them myself (which will be never, since I'm level 0). Just wanted to give these things the credit they deserve.

leather ensolsment is all that is needed to make the tough dhamel leather (1xdhamal hide, 1x windy tea leaf, 1x distilled water, 2x wind anima, 1x dark anima)
they cannont be recharged
You can sell them to an NPC for 2k when you or done or desynth them.
I've desynthed one pair and HQ'd 6 brass nuggets. next time i use them up i'll see what other desynths i get.
currently at 67 leathercraft and never fail making these. but i believe you can make them at around 45ish, once you can make cuir highboots and dhamel leather without fail

Let them charge up like they normally would even though you have no charges. Then use your THF ability Flee, and see if the boots suck the Flee into their Charges. maybe for every Flee you use, you have to replace it with a Flee from a THF? This is just a theory, and could be plausible.
part of the recipe is Tough Dhalmel Leather. it looks like the recipe for this requires an ingredient that is bought with guild points. I don't see THF's having to worry about this for NM Hunting too much. as it will probably be expensive for NM hunters to buy these boots just for farming NMs. It would have to be a very valuable drop to make it worth the cost of the boots. It will be interesting to see how much these boots go for when they start getting produced regularly.
That "Tough Dhalmel Leather" is actually a leathercraft synth involving a couple "Anima". The Anima aren't bough with Guild Points, they are, in fact, a level 75 Alchemy synth.
The Anima require items dropped in Promyvion called a "Memory". There are several types.
I don't know if you can buy the Anima or Memory items on AH though. Well, now I know what I have to do. Get several hundred thousand gil and get to 75 Alchemy lol.
You must use Leathercraft guild points to buy the Key Item Leather Purification in order to manipulate Anima in this recipe.
There is a further Leathercraft key item called Leather Enscorcellment for making further use of Anima.
You must use Alchemy guild points to buy the Key Item Anima Synthesis in order to create Anima from the various memories.
So, while the Anima itself isn't purchased with Guild Points, you have to have a Key Item if you want to create it or use it.
Finally: Go to the Homepage for this site, and scroll down to the update for September 20th. Pikko states: "For lack of better-wetter way of displaying, Guild Key Items needed for recipes will simply be counted as an Ingredientaru."

the recharge question has been asked before, and from what i can tell, once all the uses are done, the item returns to a regular item, so youwill either have to craft another enchanted item or buy another one
Now that everyone has THF's best move in NM hunting whats the point? TH2? TH2 only works when you get to fight the mob. As my major source of income now(for various reasons) I have a feeling my virtual wallet is going to be virtually missing when these become regular. Ah well, theres alwaysthe good ole' P mines...
Well, just to set the record "More" clearly. THF can pop Flee for 30 seconds every 5 minutes, the boots have a 30 second equip delay, recasting at 10 minutes. BUT... the most important of all, THF can pop Flee WHILE running, with the boots, you must stop and "Cast" them, like any other item. Which means the THF's still have a MAJOR advantage over anyone wearing these boots.

FYI a thief is not a NM farmer just becouse of his flee matey :) thief still has a lot of stuff that others dont, even with a thf subjob its just "less" than being one and beside that, i think its a good thing that stuff got shared with other jobs too now,
im a black mage.. whm, rdm, drk all 3 use my spells too... but im not complaining. i just laugh when i see a blizzard2 do 100 dmg.. then ill cast blizzard 2 and hit for 4x that dmg...
same with thf., being a thief is still a difference :)
