Could someone provide the web page or forum post link? due todays's forum in the first 8 pages (800 messages) no longer can be seen that web page reference.
next time add the link of the allakhazam post you mention.
i actually heard about this from a friend so i decided to check it out....brought in 2 stacks in about 4.5 hours... along with other drops etc... (was soooooo close to geting hujuu mujuu <sp?>) watched a dude get the signet but anyways... made about 120k which is pretty damn good IMO but my only question is where the hell are the harvesting pints in west saruta? i wandered around there a good half hour or so and didnt see any... i usually do my harvesting/mining in gusgen or a few other areas so im not sure of the spawn pos.. anyways if anyone could give me an idea such as they spawn near trees or certain areas they are more abundant would be greatly appreciated rock on everyone
goto http://mysterytour.web.infoseek.co.jp/ffxi/us/ and the Mining...Maps on the left side and click, you'll also find harvesting in west sab. which I have to say would be great for anyone with a level 10 job that is a newb, considering with a full set of gear my lv. 7 mule can get 16-17k with 6, 250G sickles... is pretty good. But the points aren't exact, but the points are "areas" in which harvesting points are. but considering I can farm 20k-80k an hour as bst65... this really is for the low level genra D: or people who like to clothcraft ^^;
On Ragnarok I was the first to harvest and sell this stuff. Which meant that I could--and did--set the price to what I wanted... which was 20k _each_. 250k per stack. It's a lot lower now, of course. But I made 700k in less than 24 hours. I could have made more, but I wouldn't give up sleep ;) The moral of this story? Never, ever, buy anything as soon as it comes out, because you _will_ be gouged to hell and back. I learned this the hard way buying eggs for up to 5k each during the easter event, and it is a lesson that has served me well. (No, I bear no ill will towards the people who sold the eggs to me for that much. In fact, I wish them nothing but the best. It was a transaction freely made and a lesson well learned.) Have a little patience and in the end you'll be rewarded.
I'm on the airship heading to Windurst to give harvesting a try. Have wanted to for a while, a number of the posts here have been most helpful in getting me on the right track to finding where to harvest.
When I saw the price of Red Moko Grass, per stack (on Fairy) for 100,000 gil...I dropped everything and went to West Saruta, and started breaking my sickles (as it were). I assumed from the price, that this was as rare a find as Fresh Mugwort (almost always going for 20,000 on Fairy unless some wise-a$$ alcemist starts messing with the price history--we're wise to you buddy)
In two hours, starting with 12 sickles, here's what I dug up...
So, for my two hour (non-scientific) analysis, Fresh Mugwort still remains the champion of rarity, and deserves its price of 10-20k a piece.
Since there were 100 items dug up, it seems pretty clear to me that Red Moko Grass is destined to become one of the cheapest of all the available harvesting components at 12%.
Breaking it down another way (according to supply/demand)
Although it should be noted that in the past when I have been harvesting, Fresh Mugwort would sometimes never drop from a harvesting point, and so the actual percentage I would have to say is truly less than 2%, maybe 1%.
So, don't despair clothcrafters, just pay the going rate for Red Moko Grass for now, or harvest it yourself if you really wanna spend 2 hours doing it (or longer if you're a noob at harvesting), and be the first kid on your block with the new red moko grass goodies! Or, just wait about a month and the price will be ridiculously low...until SE decides to reduce the availablity of the grass with the next update.
I have one year and a little more I dont harvest; in that time I farm as War47, and now will I go as WHM73?
Well, you forgot that while looking for harvesting points you can kill yagudos, and get silver coins, kill bees (honey, etc) and look at treasure, and kill the NM.
I got my Monster sigma there, plus I got 4 stacks silver and other stuff. And plenty of yagudo necklaces.. ( I gave to the Norg fame like 480 yagudos necklases)
So Giddeus is a totally good place for do money.
By the way, I dont understand why Pashhow Marshlands don't have Haverst points.
I would like the developers add there harvesting points too.
(There is plenty wanter, sun, to growth anything, lol)
Someone was shouting 'lower than AH price' for a stack of these in windy.../told him and he quoted me something with 6 digits that made me laugh. I'm gonna pick up a stack for 5k tops within 3 weeks, or just harvest my own ^^. I would recommend NOT buying these right now...just like every patch item the price will plummet soon.
Well the red moko grass has had a positive and negative effect on the game. The negative is the fact that its only harvested and therefore there is a lot of competition and the price is going to go up for a bit... right now on garuda a stack is going for 90k. However the upside to this is that the grass is driving down the price of saruta cotton. On a harvesting session i picked up a stack of red moko, and over a stack of saruta cotton. Now the market is flooded with cotton (43 stacks in the windy AH) and the price has gone from 11k to 4.5k. In time im sure that red moko will come down in price...but it might be a while since it can only be harvested. I just hope the gilsellers don't go out and monopolize it
Exact same thing happened on Midgardsormr... but I've gotten myself 14 clumps of the good stuff so far (all I wanted for my hat) and yet to have any real competition at the good harvest sites. Red moko hanging around 50k per stack...I got mine in like 2 hours tops. I'm taking of harvesting solely because of this ^^ AND I'm leveling clothcraft again while cotton stays low. Bring THF main or sub and if you have enough dex you can double your load of cotton by stealing from the mandies.
this grass is about as common as the basic moko grass; in the end after chopping away (till having a mugwart and majoram) it came out tied (4 to 4). West sarutabaruta had atleast 30 people at one time running up and down the hills (price on odin was 200k a stack)
-- Also, don't harvest in first person, especially if you are a taru. people will yell your ears off if they don't see you or you don't see them...
I've been farming them all day. I just had to have one of Trader hats ;p They're somewhat rare but not too bad. I'm guessing they're about a "D" drop ("A" being most common, "E" being most rare)
