Rolanberry 881  

I have tried this quest my self but I did it way too far in advance.
When I 1st did it I was level 50RDM/25BLM.
I went and bought about 12 stacks of rolanberries.
Went to the CN with a friend of my 75RDM/35BLM.

He was the one spawning the Crawler NM, so he would take the entire hate.

At that time there was a 75DRK (1st time I saw a DRK and look so freaking kool)

He help us out finishing our stack we had a lot and it was taking 4-6 of those berries in order to spawn the NM.

Well to make it short the I took home about 4 1/2 stacks of rolanberries 881.
And my friend confirmed it that it was a 1/3 rate for what he heard.

So Then I went to selbina and try to sell the berries but I did not had enough fame.

I went and farm some cabbage, (I was broke and only had less then 2k) I think it took 3 stacks of cabbage in order for the guy to talk to me and take my berries. I can't remember how much exactly he gave me but I think I lost only like a couple 100's gill's.

For me it was enough though because it gave me fame in all 3 cities Sandy, Bastock and Windy.

SO I can't say I made a profit but I can say that it was well worth it.
And in case you are wondering with the 4 stacks that I got I got fame 5.

Especially at sandy since I've done so many missions and quest that barely game me fame 2.

I think it was a fair trade.

I have done this, and may do it again, but remember you are investing gil to make gil. 10 stacks of Rolanberry will cost you 14,400gil at 120/piece(that is based on my fame). I did this with 10 stacks of Rolanberry and walked out with 39 Rolanberry 881 and once I trade them in I will make 31,200 - 14,400 = 16,800 in about 1hr and 30min. I also got 1 stack of Thread(Asura server as of today is 8k/stack) and some lizard tails(2k/stack))

So all in all, for the 1hr and half i was down there, i made 26,800gil total profit. Obviously, we can all do math, you can probably make roughly 107,200gil in a full 6 hours. Alot of time for not alot of gil. I read in the tip where i heard about this that you can make 1mil in a full day, assuming that meant 8 hours. Got me but I am not very close to that.

Now for another point. They may have nerfed this because the NPC you trade the 881 to will only take 1 and then say he needs to wait for his goods to sell before he has more cash or something like that. So be careful.

Good hunting all. Again, this is based on my one experience doing this. Dont go 100% by it.

first of all the berry drops 100% of course. now... when you get something like "you trade the rolandberry, but nothing happens" its because there are no spanws of workers crawlers to turn them into the guardian crawlers. if you trade and it says just you traded it then that means it turned the worker crawler into a guardian crawler. i figured that out by seeing the party next to me, they werent killing fast but at a decent speed. i got down to like 9/12 will make Guardian spawn. i hope this helps. if im wrong please somebody notify me

From my expericence, and ive only been doing this a short while, so its not extensive,

I bought 3 stacks of berries and traded them in, and got 10 crawler pops, 100% drop on the 881 berry, and a 1/5 drop on silk, and a 1/10 drop on eggs.

I went back and bought 30 stacks of berries and im slowly working my way thru them. I asked the party that was next to me if they minded, and they said it was fine as long as it didnt affect their party.

Ill post again with the results from the 30 stacks.

The Rolanberry 881 is obtained by trading 1 or more Rolanberry(ies) to a specific ??? inside the crawlers nest and force popping a guardian crawler. you kill the crawler for the aged berry (can also get earth crysals silk and crawler eggs). The aged berry in this case the 881 can now be used for the quest in selbina or traded to a different ??? inside the CN to pop yet another nm Drone crawler(not a 100% pop chance when trading) and upon killing the drone crawler you get a Rolanberry 874 which can either be used for selbina quest or traded to yet another set of ??? to pop yet another NM(s) Matron Crawler or Queen Crawler which will drop a Rolanberry 864 which can either be traded to selbina or traded to yet another and final ??? to pop another NM crawler named Awd Goggie which will drop Royal Jelly which can be used in a few quests or crafted into cursed soup or elixir The main reason this is camped is cooks trying to get that final level 99-100 without investing millions of gil on dragon meat(although prices on the other materials make it just as/if not less profitable, since the soup has so little demand). The jelly can also be obtained via death wasps and other various NMs however from my exp the drop rate on the jelley was close to 1/400 off the wasps, yes some people are luckier than others.
If the NM crawler is popped and killed the berry or jelley should be a 100% drop.

all the berries stack and chances are it will take more than one of each berry to pop the NM.

how many do i trade to the ******* i tried anywhere from 1-5 but get nothing

its the hidden quest in selbina, trade to the NPC called Vuntar you will get 800gils per these things so basically you keep trading rolanberry to the ??? and kill the guardian you get these and maybe silk.. so just keep doing over and over until inventory is full and go to selbina and hull in a good amount of money

i got this off the guardian crawler inside the crawlers nest....dont really kno what its for...anybody know?
