Yep, I skilled up on these and they seemed to move very fast on my server, Fenrir.

It looks like you can no longer get sairui-ran from this NPC. Has it turned into synth only, or is does it randomly show up in the npc's stock?

The guild will sell these tools if and only if someone had sold them some the day before. All guilds have items like this.
great synth

I made these from skill 20-28 and they were amazing profit on Asura, I bought everything from vendors except for the Bast parchment which added up to 21k, and a stack in jueno goes for 12k, so thats 21k, to make 4 stacks which is 36k, all totaled up, w/o breaks I made a 27k profit for every stack of ingreadients, only problem is getting it all to sell.

Alchemy: 83

Darksday / Last Quarter Moon 50% / Facing South
-----------------------------------------------
36 Attempts
Failure: 3
Normal Result (33): 23
HQ1 (66): 7
HQ2+ (99): 3

Profitability Analysis:
Sells < 10 stacks per city per day.
Material Costs: 62k (Bast Cost 12k/stack and wood is not high enough to make it myself).
Revenue: 15 stacks @ 6500 or 97k.
Profit: 35k

This product was sold out in Windurst, Bastok, Sandy and only had 3 available in Jueno this evening. Could potentially drive up price because of this. Would have profited 18k more if I made my own bast, but wood is only 24 at the moment.

Gathering the ingredients is a bit tedious. On Shiva, Elshimo Lowlands are almost always under beastman control so that warrants a trip to Kazham. Next you have to get Bomb Ash in Bastok from NPC in gun powder room. Can never get eggs from Bastok Airship merchant since they are typically dead last on Shiva, so it is off to another random city to pick those up.

Theoretically, you could by 10 stacks of everything and just have a synth fest and fill up a mule and spread the resultant product around AH's and bazarr if your server is sold out, but it requires a massive investment of time and resources. Feels like I can make better money off of silent oil since all jobs can utilize that rather than just Ninjas and it sells faster.

This is a great alchemy recipe. It got me from echo drops at lv 20 to 28. At the time, given my cost of ingredients, the break-even point was at 3500/stack. I could get around 2400/stack from vendors. Currently they are going for 5k-7k/stack on the AH. Do the math...I'm saving the 30 stacks I made for future sale.

Has anyone been able to get an exceptional result with these? I know a lot of items get 66 and 99 from EX results. It would be something to work for if I can get 99 from them:)

You need to be at least 50 levels over the cap. That would mean 78 Alchmey. I heard raising support skills to help with HQ results.

You dont HAVE to... you could HQ at lower than the cap... its just not very likely...

Well as a 65 Alchemist and a 60 cooker i can tell you two things about this recipe.

1) Despite breaking the tier 2 cap, i enjoy a average of a 1 in 12 or a 2 in 12 HQ rate, not too hot.

2) The failure rate on such a recipe is quite high, i usually fail at least 2-3 times each stack, even when it is earthsday and near full moon.

As for price these things can range from anything from 12-13k all the way to 20k.
Not bad

Supplies cost about the same as it does to make them. I'm at a low level Alchemy (23 atm) and I only failed a couple times while making these. I basicly broke even by making three stacks of products (which I sold for 5k a peice) from 11 synths. Much cheaper then making any of the other products at this level which totally suck you dry.
I found that it was cheaper to raise my cooking to 11 to synth these then it was to gain one or two levels in Alchemy ^^.

Even if it breaks even or sells slightly below cost it's worth it to make these if you're a ninja because you're getting very cheap skillups (you're going to be using them after all)

Anyone know what level cooking is required...? The levels required for half these synths are annoying.

the cooking cap on this is 11.

I started at 8 skill - gained cooking very fast - this abruptly stopped at skill 11.

roughly 24 successes were made after cooking hit 11 with no skill gain in cooking.

Thank you, I think I've found my next trade skill trainer.

You may want to submit that as a correction so that it shows up properly on the description ^^

I haven't tried making this yet, but the recipe given to me by guild NPCs says you need Bast Parchment instead of Parchment. Parchment can be found under Leathercrafting for 10k a stack, Bast Parchment under Woodworking for around 4K a stack, so it'd be pretty bad if you bought a lot of the wrong item. I looked into this some, and if you really do get 33 Sairui-Ran after each synth, buying stack of everything, you spend around 13k and can get a return of 24k (Stacks of 99 Sairui-Ran I've seen selling for about 6k)

Just a heads up. Gonna be trying this recipe as soon as I get enough money. If it works out like I think it does, it'll be the first profitable alchemy formula.

Edit: I've tried synthing these with 0 cooking, failed every time. It'll let you try, but you'll never succeed. Its a great way to blow tons and tons of money.

Actually, I've found that desynthing goblin masks can be very profitable but it's quite a gamble since the profitability is highly dependant on your luck with getting HQ desynths from the masks.

Repairing glass fiber fishing rods with light crystals is an excellent skill trainer from lvl20/21-25 and turns out as a very slight profit if you don't break too many crystals & rods (I only failed 4 total, and only 1 destroyed the broken rod).

Silent oil can be a little profitable if you buy the beeswax, and very profitable if you farm the hive chips for beeswax.

Just thought someone might that useful...

Farming anything does NOT change if a synth is profitable or not.
