The Iron Ram Sallet available in San d'Oria [S] is arguably better than this. More DEF, HP, and Enmity as well as Magic Def. Bonus +3. Unless you're acting as a healer, this is nothing more than a macro piece if you want the extra time on Rampart.

Got this drop last night on my Bastok run. Was about 10 minutes or so from being kicked, and the sucker decides to drop. I was given the priority to lot, and BAM, Valor Coronet. Not exactly a fantastic gear, but definitely a showpiece that I'll wanna keep just for the hell of it.

We had 3 drop in 1 run, only bother using it when casting spells and Rampart. Koenig is much better. AXI 4 LIFE

Got mine last nite, sadly Adaman/Koenig is definetly better however its good to macro for casting Cure spells because of the healing Magic +10 and to macro in when you use Rampart
question how is adaman better? the only difference i would say that adaman is better then this is that it has +mp also. but this gives more hp enimty and dosent reduce eva. increase of rampart duration is also nice.
by far i think this is a much better piece. just for you people who think im noob gem and koenig are better

I just got mine last night. The item increases the duration of rampart to 45 seconds in length as opposed to the 30 seconds you normally have. I didn't notice if it caused an increased defense boost.

i saw a jp player with all of the valor set before. he also had a koenig shield. Needless to say, he was the definition of an uber paladin. Sorry, I totally forgot his name but he is on Unicorn.
