Colored drops are found on the armors running around the outside areas that can only be beaten with the lvl 1 "lotus katana" for the current event (Feast of swords). You talk to a nomad moogle and are capped with Flee and lvl restricted to 1. From what I have seen, there are Hume, Mithra, Taru, and Galka armors (at least in West Ronafure). The Mithra is hardest, then Hume, then Taru, then Galka. Mithra drops a gold carp, but all the others drop colored drops and race specific Mochi. I received a yellow drop, white drop, and green drop so far. They are probably going to be very common until the current event ends.

I got this when I finished Promathia mission and going thru the last bunch of cutscenes, got it from the fake Louverances friend, Goldmane at Purgonorgo Island.
My other friends got different colour drop, I guess he hand out random colour drops not only yellow.

I got this drop from the goldfish scooping mini-game from the Summerbreeze festival, do you have to consume it to get the +5 Vit bonus or do you get it just by keeping it in your inventory?
You need to "use" it like you would a medicine or food.
And yes, this is a medicine item, so the drops stack with food.
