You must trade Vice of Avarice from NM (Ix'aern (DRK) in The Garden of Ru'Hmet ) to Meret in Tavnazian Safehold. You must complete NPC Yurim's
((J-8),upper level (Basement)) quest, In the Name of Science, before Meret will accept any trades. See quest "In the name of Science" for additional Details.

1/9 on this, got it today, finally. Glad it's finally done. This NM is really random, each one of those times I did it in small groups of mostly RDM and BLM. Sometimes he would take 10 minutes to get the message, sometimes 4 hours. Sometimes he would raise twice, sometimes 20 times. It was pretty much hell. But it's all worth it, now :D My luck couldn't escape me forever!

So this will take about 16 hours of farming to get a drop, on average? If it takes roughly 2 hours to get the spawn and then the drop rate s 15-20%? I'm in for a long haul :x

Well, my brother Orionj currently has this. Im pretty sure its a DRK Ax'ern in sea (Yes in know i have horrible spelling). Im not exactly sure. All i know is that he is rarely resisted with his enfeebles. He is 75RDM and has some really good gear as well. If you're on Remora you should /tell him and ask. Hopefully you catch him in a good mood :3

i submitted that screenshot its my cape. a previous poster is correct, drops from DRK Ix'Aern in The Garden of Ru'Hmet. To spawn it, you have to find the groups of 4 Aerns (4 different opposite areas), and there is a "???" that rotates between them. Kill all the aerns around the ???, if a party member gets the message "<name> is enveloped in sheer animousity", he/she clicks the ??? and the Ix'Aern pops. He also brings 2 other NM Aerns with him that all link with regular aerns. Its very hard to get the message, sometimes you can kill aerns for hours and never get the message... Cape isa round 15%-25% drop rate, from wht i hear, even though we were 1/1 and got the "Vice of Avarice". To turn in for the cape you must turn it into Meret, and must have obtained an obi, gorget or earring from the quest "In the Name of Science" before Meret will give trade for it. Enjoy :D

You get this cape from the drk Ix'aern in the Garden of Ru'hmet. It drops an item called "Vice of Avarice" which is traded to an NPC in Safehold for the cape.
I believe this cape is acquired from farming items in sea, but I might be mistaken.

since there are so many other rare/ex items like bahamut's staff, bahamut's mask, etc. that were put in for this update, i would assume that it's from the bahamut fight

from the looks of it, its rare/ex which means no AH. I mean come on, you're not even looking.
