Excellent for mnk/nin specifically. You lose the -evasion from O Kote, gain a good HP boost (especialy Galka), retain a high ATK, and improve your Chakra ability to save your *** in emergencies. I'd also probably wear these over O Kote in any situation though - and the +1 version I would definitely.
I jsut got these recently and I must say they are very nice. You drop 4 att from O. Kote but who cares, the boost in chakra ability alone makes them better than O. Kote and the suble blow+4 and HP+3% are a nice bonus as well.
It doesn't ALWAYS remove Paralyze. Sometimes when I use chakra w/ temple cyclas and melee gloves on it doesn't remove it. Most of the time it does remove it though so idk how it works sometimes but not all the times.
Please, someone that comes up in here and has a nice Dynamis Ls, if you can tell your ls leader about having an extra mnk in their ls. I need a dynamis ls, Im today a 65 mnk in Fairy Server (expensive as HELL!!) ; ; please help me out. If your u or your ls is interested in me, please send me a /tell or post a message here. thank y0u
I obtained these 20 minutes before Dynamis ended. Anyways, I love these gloves, the subtle blow +4 effect is very nice when you are fighting bones in KRT that uses annoying movements like blindga and drainga, and the added attack is always welcome, these gloves are a good substitute for Ochiudo's Kote.
The AF2 pieces in the Dynamis areas are rare drops, not just these, I did Dynamis - Jeuno twice and the first time only DRK af dropped, whereas the second time blm boots and mnk gloves dropped. Too bad both times we failed to end the Dynamis, damn BLM's sleep'em better! >_< j/k
Well, I think these are the ultimate piece of equipment, unless there are other pieces better than these. {See you again!}
You will often see none drop. When it does, it's not unusual to be competing for the lot with around 4 or more Monks.
Subtle Blow is very useful as Monks go higher in level due to the speed of attacks. The bonus of the Melee Gloves, for example, resulted in me seeing the monsters do their special attacks later.
As stated, the Chakra bonus is +0.6 and it stacks with Temple Cyclas to give you a total of x3.6 VIT. It also does remove normal Virus (not very useful) but cannot remove the special kinds of Viruses, such as the TP draining one that Buffalo give.
for a lvl 75 monk, which is better: Rasetsu Tekko, or Melee Gloves (these)? i'm not talking about the whole armor sets, i just can't choose what i want my ultimate hand equipment to be when i'm 75.
BUT should the time ever come, then DUH, these! ... they have +16 Attack, which is slightly less than Kote, but the have other GREAT bonuses, i think they allow Chakrax3 (like AF = Chakrax2) - They dont stack
Subtle Blow is under-rated, but its very good to have - these pwn 98% of gloves available,.. i'd wear these over anything else personally
MNK1 (march) - MNK71(october) and im wearing Melee Gaitors lvl 71. All u have to do is be in a Dynamus LS and ull get the gloves eventualy. So with hard work and determination to ur job u can get these easily.
Subtle Blow would probably only become really useful when soloing but at 73 you won't exactly see much of that. Of course during long battles this effect can get to the point where you prevent at least 1 or maybe 2 WS from the mob by lowering the TP you give to it.
Subtle Blow is VERY significant, especialy with the mobs you fight at these lvls. Skeletons - less TP = less HP drain, less Blind, etc. AoE abilities. Weapons - less Whirl of Rage, less Smite of Rage, etc. Aura Statues - less crystal rain. . . i think you see my point. I pt'd my whm with 2xMNK and a nin static for 13 lvls, i saw a huge difference in monster TP abilities, it makes a very nice difference.
Actually, that's a bit off. Chakra heals for a base of 2 pt for every VIT. The Temple Cyclas adds 1 pt healed for every VIT. The Melee Gloves add 0.6 pt for every VIT. So with both equipped, you'll heal for 3.6 x VIT.
