I am not sure how this guy and the other 3 NM's that spawn in this area could possibly fit into the "not to be taken lightly" category. I agree with the first posts that contradict that statement. My farming buddy (Ciross 68 WHM/SMN) and I (as 67 THF/NIN) simply devistated these things and whatever link happened by (the usual, as these are tight quarters). They hit hard, yes, but that's if they can hit you. Obviously, as my sub is 33, I have no Ni, and yet as my shadows went down, Ichi was ready again, and I would get interrupted maybe twice a fight. The only real damage we encountered was from Burst, which eats shadows (being a -ga spell). Does that make us bad-asses? Of course, we'd like to think so, and these "man, he was hard, but I managed to beat him" posts would suggest so, but alas, we are not, these NM's are just that easy.

Burst as an AoE? I think someone needs to play a BLM to figure out what spells are AoE's and which aren't.

Too bad he's not red... I want pizza...
I just fought this guy as RDM74/BLM37 so I just thought Id say he is NOT as easy as he sounds. :P When he uses Manafont he will spam ancient magic. Now I attack with a Joyuese which usually interrupts fairly well but I only stopped him once with Flat Blade. His AM always went through blink but I imagine if you sub NIN he will be very easy. No drop. ; ; oh well theyre only 8K and 15K.
Yeah, Manafont makes spells uninteruptable unless a stun move is used. Spells used during blms 2hour cannot be interupted by normal melee damage.
