got this sucker to pop on the 3rd quus. zoned him along with a few other crabs.
i went back in to fight him but then i realized this guy was much to strong for me solo. so i started shouting for help. lucky for a me a 75 blm/whm was watching me solo this guy and was willing to help. being a pld/rdm i was able to tank him no problem while the blm went crazy with nukes. he had to rest to full mp twice to get the job done. 1/1 on drop! W00T. i think i might go back and try to solo this guy but first i would need to cap enhancing and shield skill.

First time poping, went 1/4 for the pop. 75nin/war (me) and 75war/nin. Fight was long as hell and a smn in zone voluntered to help. Fight was about 20-25 mins. Drop 1/1. (Mine!) Next pop tries we went 0/8 for the war and gave up. Got about 30 throwing lvls though :)
Note: When added effect does go off, goes for about 50+ Ive noticed. Proc rate isnt very high either.
One thing to watch out for if you decide to duo him is the Haunts...They dont play very nice. Clear area for a safe run up the hill to the lizzies and to avoid low HP aggro need be. As a nin, his acc was extreamly low with Blind on him. I got hit once cause I was excited about poping him.
Sword looks pimp with Relic on!

I just duo'ed him on my Hume RDM70/35NIN. Me and an ls buddy were just skilling up there when someone decided to drag him by, he aggro'ed the other member (75 BRD/20 NIN :P). We zoned, healed up, and came on in, pulled him to zone, and got to killing.
Was hitting me for around 120 with Phalanx up, not counting Enwater. Lullaby and Requiem would not stick, Elegy would, however. Slow, Gravity, Paralyze, Bio all stuck with no resists. Without Elegy his attack speed is pretty good, comparable to Aquarius from what I can recall. Anyways, we shared hate somewhat, my recast was down to pretty respectable levels with Haste and Marches, most of the damage came from Enspell. He wasn't hard to hit even with gimped sword skill (no Spirits, 165 skill-170 when he died) but damage done was pitiful. Used Stoneskin to give me safety for the times when Utsu wasn't ready.

Many Quus' and day slater. Took me 20 Quus' for the 1st pop, 30 for the 2nd, 23 for the 3rd.
1st Pop he dropped. . .but i had to zone, loosing it, 2nd time he refused to drop, 3 is the charm. . .
PT consisted of mithra THF75/nin and an elv RDM52/blm (plainly for haste and some cures while i whacked the lizardds/crabs there w/o utsu to kill time while waiting for the ??? to repop).
Meleeing him is futile, much as Sewer Syrup he takes very little dmg from any kind of physical attack. Using enspells, weapons with added dmg or ammo (bloody/holy bolts) are highly recommend, esp since he has ~10k HP and my THF (Stylet, 8dagger merits) hit for less then 10dmg. . . .bloody bolts going for ~10dmg +70+ drain though. He isnt too accurate, has no 2hr, only normal crab TP moves (Scissor Guard is evil) and attacks at normal speed. Only thing to remember is he has a quite decent enwater effect that seemingly canNOT be dispelled (poor PLD).
Arondight itself has enwater as well, doing 30-50dmg depending on what i hit.

It took 49 quus and 3 cancers to get mine but i finally own an Arondight. Had a thf67 (Seventhmagi) and a rng71 (Anklebiterer) help me out, thanks a ton guys.

Avacus on Ramuh 75whm/blm. I can easily solo the place holders it's just very slow. I have now popped the ??? 30 times with no sign of cancer. But anyways how I did this was clear any crabs in the room first by sneaking up and binding in a safe spot, recast sneak, run to camp, don't worry he'll follow. I sneak popped the ??? all but one time doing the same pulling technique. I don't know if i can solo Cancer as whm but I can't wait to hexa his face. My 64drk/thf is craving this sword!

Friend and me got really bored one night and decided to try and pop Cancer. After a search for Quus, which ended in me fishing them myself we headed out. Me (74PLD/20NIN gimpage I know), my friend Yukisoma a 74SMN/37WHM, and a 75 BLM/37 WHM headed out to the tunnel with 9 Quus total.
We cleared the area, rested and got 2 Robbers before our first Cancer. He popped and we took him down with relative ease, but made the mistake of fighting him there, which resulted in pops aggroing. After escaping out and no drop on the first kill we just continued the process of cleaning the room. 3 pops later we get Cancer again. This time being smart I wore sneak, once he popped had the SMN pull it back through the tunnel a little near the lizzies to avoid aggro again. No drop. We go 1 more before our 3rd pop. I just went to kuftal to try and pop this NM for a friend who was off doing something somewhere else. I popped him after 3 trades, then held him there for about 40 mins so that my friend could come for the drop. When i wanted to do dmg, i just used bloody bolts. They hit for 4-7 dmg with an additional effect of 40-60 hp drained. I didn't put up any shadows so that i could take some damage and do more dmg with the additional effects of the bloody bolts. I had the greatsword drop on my first kill (I was 74thf/nin). It's a really easy fight if you just spam bloody bolts. I even went afk for 3 minutes and came back and was fine ^^

Is he duoable with me(73blm/whm) and a 74thf/nin?
I didn't have a Gsword for my PLD and this looks like a cool rare/ex one to get so I camped it. 3/35 on popping this guy, and 1/2 on the drop. Had a thf with TH2 second time I fought this though. This mob can't be soloed by most jobs, he hits for only slightly less than most EXP mobs to a 71 pld. good luck to anyone trying to camp this... seems the spawn rate is about a 1/10 chance or so. maybe it's just superstition but he seemed to pop more often when you click on the ??? and get the text before trading.

My LS was bored so we went on a random NM hunt. After trying to pop him with Quus for around an hour, it finally shows up. It was me(55DRG), 75WHM, 74PLD, 67WAR, 68SAM, 70WHM.
Yea it was pretty much overkill and we got the drop. And it was really boring, nothing to do in Kuftal *sigh*

Solo'd this thing as 74THF/NIN (spawns down in the Haunt Pit near the entrance from Altep) but fought a Robber Crab with it the whole time! lol.
20-30minute fight surrounded by Haunts, hoping to God they didnt inch any closer or that i didnt run out of bolts (sleep, bloody or acid).
I get Cancer to 11%HP and it gets a lucky streak on me (criticals to boot for 225 damage) so that wasn't very good news for me considering i've got about 6 or 7 Haunts surrounding me.
I flee to zone, and exp party snatches him.
I zone back immediately , 335HP left from all the Haunt nukes (lucked out cuz one casted bio to save me from the other's Sleep). Anyways i flee back down the hill to see Cancer raping the party that tried to snag it so i launch in a bloody bolt and reclaim what's mine :) Finally me and Cancer can be alone (he's at 21% now).
Finish him off while following all the rumors that affect drop rate (take off shadows, debuffs, no WS killshot;pretty much anything i could think of ^^).
1/1 on the GS ^^ so now I have a reason to lvl PLD.
Btw, i got 45 exp for this fight so, i doubt it's lvl65, more likely it's 70 or higher (DC to a 74).

Given the date of your post, you killed this mob after the patch that SE adjusted the exp awards for EP and DC mobs in. DC mobs start with exp awards around 55 now, EP can go up to 54 exp per kill. Concrete reason why I know these numbers:
on Remora for a long time it was difficult to get a pt as PLD. Much soloing was done in Garlaige Citadel on EP thru EM skellys.

As 67PLD/WAR with full defense set up (defender, earth staff, war belt+1, jelly ring etc), it hit me for about 40-90 a hit. Not too hard at all. ^^
Solo'd this easily as 74 thf/nin.

I dunno its position, but I do know this. When entering Kuftal, you come to the area with sand lizards. Walk up to the fence, and down below you is an area with several crabs and haunts. You will see 3 ???'s. The one the farthest back on a little mound is the Cancer ???. Trade it a Quus and either a Robber Crab or Cancer will pop. Now those haunts supposedly aggro lvl 75's, so bring something smn or /smn so they can sneak carby pull the crabs. The ??? has about a 10-20 min respawn every time you trade it a Quus. 1/1 on Cancer. Arondight looks so hawt!

Can i solo this as a 73blm/36rdm? Also i see that Aquarius is 70 and this NM is 65 so would this NM be easier.. let me know^_^ ty
