Vana'diel Bestiary: Chocoboleech  

30RDM/14WHM soloed him even with one add. Just sit before you pull and buff Protect/Shell. Then, use Blaze Spikes, Enfire, and Regen before you trade the Fresh Blood. Just be sure to keep your mana for Regen and Cure II/III when you need it. I used Blind on him as well, and it seemed effective enough. He didn't use any special abilities except Regeneration, but he does have a double-strike ability that procs about 10-15%...or at least that much when I fought him. Maybe I had it easy?

Soloed it as 37WHM/18BLM. Definitely would have died if I didn't clear the links and pull him to a tunnel away from any leech spawns. Buffed with Pro/Shell and blink/stoneskin. Club skill wasn't so hot, i got 100+ TP before the fight so opened with WS and a few banish nukes. I managed to get another WS in and nuked. I recasted Stoneskin and blink in the middle of the fight. Used Cure2 twice. I was getting ready to use Benediction when i killed him with a club hit and with 64 hp left to spare. I would have subbed nin, but I wanted to warp out of there fast ;; happy hunting, not a pushover for mages 35-40

I was looking at this nm and thought...

"Chocobo Sucker? ... Goat Sucker? ... Chupacabra?"

It makes sense in a way... after all, you spawn it by trading blood from a sheep (a calf/goat/farm-type animal) to a randomly moving spot in Wadi. After all, you never know when the Chupacabra will pop up...

But just a thought... Could it be FFXI's version of the Chupacabra?

Maybe? Maybe not? Reading too much into it?

Killed him as 38whm/18blm..

First time I attemped, i did not play smart. I figured i would club him to death. Big mistake!.. he started hitting me for 50 points of damage and my mp was only half full when i started the fight, so i ran away lol.

Second attemp, casted blink and stoneskin, had tp already to 200% from killing other leeches and rested to full mp (had about 430 mp all together).

Started the fight with slow, paralyze, blind and dia. and just spammed blizzard and fire and occasionally aero.. After he had about 10% or less hp, i used seraph strike and it killed him off. I did not have to cure myself once the fight and finished with 150 mp left.

A joke XD So easy. Dropped the Gassan. Just what I needed for my 15NIN :3 I also got 12 xp out of it (w/Emp Band)

Preparing to go NIN a bit and since I had a fresh blood in my inventory I went out to look for this. MNK/WAR level 32. I had to run around for awhile and there was someone else, a WHM/BLM level 30, also looking. The mage found him first - we had agreed to tell each other if we found it - but he got killed very fast. I ran to the spot were he had fought (F-6) but there was only ordinary leeches hopping around and the whm came back so we partyed hoping he would still be around and that he's blood wasn't wasted. Well, no luck, we disbanded and I went to look elsewhere.
10 minutes after, this was just before I had to go to work so I was in a hurry, I found another ????-spot at E-10 and I told the guy. He hurried over to help if needed but I couldn't wait so I started the fight. I had to 100fist quite soon and still do 2 Combos before he went down. (I think I ate a leftover meat jerky just before the fight.)
I had just above 100 HP left and the WHM didn't even reach the area. I'm sticking around a few more hours anyway later tonight, I want to check one of those chests and the Lizard NM seems interesting, and if that whm is still here he's definitely gonna need help.

P.S. And the day after my son turned up and got a Gassan too, and together we got a few chests, one with a trophical shield, and the Steam Scale mail from Geyser Lizard.

Okay I am not sure if this is random points where the ??? floats around or this NM pops up anywhere you trade the fresh blood. I did this with a lvl 34 mnk/war solo tooo easy although if I had not wiped out the linking leechs before poping the NM and not being able to use the 2Hr for mnk I would have probably died. My point is that I found him at the ??? at the J-6 point where a tree was right next to the pond. Also I dont know if I was just tired but I couldnt find this in the AH at all. its only worth 571 at the Dragon's claw in Bastok Markets.

Just solo'd this guy as a L36BLM/RDM; easy peasy lemon squeezy. Just to be safe I cleaned out the area (F-8 spawn for me) of other leeches before hand. I popped him and bound immediately. Got out of range and just *ga'd him to death. I used Blizzga, Thundaga, drain (he'd hit me a few times before I bound him, about 30HP each hit) then Firga and he was dead. I'd say something along the lines of 900HP given what my ga's and drain hit for, possibly more, probably a bit less. Got nothing but the gassan even though I had signet up.


Oh, and I didn't bother to buff at all Btw, totally forgot. Didn't even have a pie handy.

Can you find ??? and spawn the NM twice encluding getting the drop(twice)?
