at what level could a pld/war solo this?

I soloed it as a level 63 thief alone in regular exp gear at first, then switched to AF gear. It missed a lot, but I needed to skill up marksmanship, so I used bloody bolts to keep my HP (skill level was only around 105-110ish), and it skilled me up nicely. I didn't cast shadows before the fight, only during it because it wore off right when I poked the ???, and only used them about three times since bloody bolts more than covered any HP lost from the bug.
The poison and slow didn't ever land, and dancing edge did a good amount of damage on it. If I hadn't been spamming marksmanship that often missed, probably would have gone down a lot more quickly. It's completely soloable by anyone who does weak melee damage + has okay evasion at level 63ish, though Dancing Edge did hit pretty hard, doing between 500-700 (not hard compared to being paired with TA or SA, but not bad for a pretty weak mob). me 54pld/war friend 55rdm/nin, we owned it, the fight took maybe 2 minutes. yea poison breath can hit pretty hard but still not bad.

and didnt come close to dieing, at worst got to around 300hp and thats only because of its crazy poison breath thing so be on the look out for that...
Also someone said you can pop it every hour is it ok to pop it if ive already shown the bait to the kid in San d'Oria? Beacause getting plenty of giant shell bugs at 20k a pop seems to good to miss out on.

i was with a 75rdm/nin yes i know rdm/nin can do anything but we wanst doing much dmg to him i was doing like 40dmg she was foing like 60dmg ^^ took us like 3min to kill he was easy to kill with my friend.
Easy solo 75WAR/NIN although notable is the slow effect which prevented my last casting round ; ;
853/1300 HPs left because slow stopped my recast of shadows until i killed it. Dropped 3 Giant shell bugs and nothing else.
Solo without Utsusemi: probably not without Hi-potions no.

Took this on with my lvl 72 PLD friend....... it did bout 50 DMG to him altogether lol. There was no way i was paying 50-60k/Giant shell bug ><.

Ok which map exactly is this H-9 at?
Theres the first map with the room with the pulsating sacs.
Then the 2nd room where the strange apparatus is or secret room area as many ppl know it.
And last the map with the rdmAF2???

Its on the Same Map as the RdmAF2.
Take the Second tunnel to your Right in the Sack room(Map1) and keep going till you get to a drop off with a bunch of Lab. Lizzy around (just like the Sack room but smaller). Drop down and take the first Tunnel to you're Left and go as far south as you can. hit Tab and you find the ???. to get out from there just head east(small drop) then south and you're back in the Sack Room

Its on the north downstairs, with all the Laby Lizards. It is not on the side with the rumble tunnel.

Does is spawn in the area of the map where the exit to fight Simurgh is? Kind of by a Doom Scorpion?
Does he spawn by where that Giant Scorpion spawns? And is that the same place RDM AF is?

This can only be Spawned once a day (Vandial time), bring a thf gurrantees alot of bug drops, fight it a few times and load up, you'll need them.

U wont need more than one, unless u dont know how to fish, at all. or of course if ure fishing in the wrong spot.

Anyone know if you have to be pld to spawn this or just have the quest active? I already know that it cant be spawned w/o the quest.

As you can deduce, this is an optional battle, so not very difficult.

Had the BST take a Pet and Tanked the Mob myself considering it was taking the Pet swiftly.
Battle was pretty long, but there was no danger. All of us were out of MP, but I was never in the red the whole time. Battle ended and everyone was in the White, so no issues at all.
Just be careful if your planning on taking him on, he Spams Poison Breath, can do 300-500 damage.

This thing is simple as hell..I helpled my 53pld friend get this with a 67nin...I'm a 60drg...the nin took about 50dmg, and the fight was over in about a min, I didn't even get a second WS off

I soloed this as a 70 RNG. Had shadows up and used Dodge earrings. Had TP also, used it, barraged, tp again, then shoot shoot tp. It has a nice amount of hp but soloable with or without shadows. A RDM was fighting it also, but didnt nuke so it took a while. It dropped 1 bug thing for me and it seems to take like 5 minutes before repops.

was cake, no one ever got close to dying at all.
Dropped 3 Giant shell bugs, only ended up using 1 in Castle Oztroja fishing the 2nd part of this quest.

Drops the "Giant Shell Bug" for AF2 Quest (boots). Quest received from Ailbeche in North San D'oria. Must've have given the fishing rod back to him from the "Father and Son" Quest.
