solo'd this last night (75thf/nin) with my npc, so i guess it's not really a solo. I was a little intimidated knowing he would astral flow, and summon an elemental. but it was pretty easy, he died quick. Astral Flow hit for like 350ish. Got drop, too bad it only sells for like 12k on seraph.
just cleared mobs, pulled his dark elemental before fighting him. He could probably be zerged by alot of dd jobs.

Just soloed this guy as Nin/Dnc with my Npc. First i cleared the room he was in and then i pulled his elemental without aggroing him. After that i rested up my Npcs mp and fought him. Landed all Debuffs and he didnt resummon hes elemental during the fight. He just summoned Garuda after Astral Flow, but that only did around 350 Damage to me and my Npc and he released Garuda right after she did her special move, so he wasnt that bad at all. His normal attacks did about 100+ damage, but utsu was up most of the time. Unfortunatly only a demon skull dropped :/.

Actually... the map the nms are shown on isnt the map where they pop. They pop a floor above. But you can still see on the map on which corner they pop ^^.
can this guys 2 hour be stoped if his element is dead cause a nin wanted to kill it first then fight him but i didnt see the chat and he 2 hours so could it be stoped if his element is dead? i only ever heard of it being stoped by being silenced

Duo'd this guy with my rdm friend (71 nin & 71 rdm). Was easy as pie, elemental was asleep, we were whittiling him away. Then Astral Flow. Thought we were okay cuz the elemental was sleepin, but Ifrit popped up beside it.... Ya so, apparently he can have two avatars out at once.
We managed to live, but It was damn close. Just wanted to put up the FYI lol.

For all of you who say`s it`s BS that this guy holds a scythe... i agree with you. But, look at this...
The Ka`s (or whatever) in Eldimine (sp?) hold greatswords, and cast Sleep II.
Well, to my knoweldge, only BLM and RDM get Sleep II. And neither BLM nor RDM can wield a greatsword.
Just to let you all know this isn`t the only cheating mob in this game... heh.

DRKs get Sleep II and wield greatswords pretty darn well. ;)
Won as RDM/NIN, no real problems. Can be slept, 21-24 hour spawn, no placeholders.

In my opinion just farm for the Demonslicer...it's only 130k on Unicorn server...you will be wasting a lot of time camping these guys and they are not 100% drop...in that time u could have easily farmed 130k together and get your Weapon and start leveling again...

i don't know anyone who's camped batym for demonslicer - but a lot of people do it for the dark spirit pact. sells for 1M on fairy, and the price is rising.
not bad for a mob that can be killed by three people; and it's a very fun fight. ^^

Fight is fine til ASTRAL FLOW... Yes, no BS'ing, it IS in fact a SMN... For the love of god and your xp, SLEEP the elemental... Astral Flow wont have any effect if its asleep... Astral flow hit me for 800 dmg at lvl 70. FYI...

next to the crystal HNM people this is the coolest looking NM
When I went out for my PLD AF key from here, I was downstairs near this guys spawn point. So my pt decided to kill it. We had a 75WAR, 75NIN, and one other lvl 70+ melee member. Plus me, who was at the time around lvl 58 I think and our 58WHM.
Well here is how this fight goes. I remember a bit, but I was scared out of my wits fighting this guy. I had looked up mobs previous to going to Castle Zvahl so I would have some general knowledge of it.
...opening moments of the fight I remember our WAR voking him and bringing him to our tunnel camp. We had just finished clearing out that side of the room, and the WHM was at about 1/2 MP. But the WAR decided to bring it anyway... So the NIN voked and begins to tank it. But the WAR was doing so much damage, including the darkness SC they used, the NIN could not hold hate. And the WAR starts taking some decent hits. So the WHM is throwing cures at him and takes the aggro.
Our plan was for all members to voke in the instance the mob went to our WHM. Including me... So I voked and got the hate... *swat* 180dmg *swat* 200 dmg. So now Batym has little health left and it's just a matter of time... until the WHM gets aggro again from cures. And who comes to save the day? ME! I ran in front of the WHM, Covered and used Invincible.
We won the fight but no drop. And was a TON of fun!^^
