where is the elevator in ghelsba outpost to get to the third floor?

Passing through Ghelsba Fort on multiple occasions for Kazham keys and BCNM fights I've found this guy four times so far. First time I found it I was in a party going to my first BCNM30 Carapace Combatants (Lost by the way due to a bad strategy I thought would work), the other people with me told me that he's used to spawn another NM. Not really in any hurry we beat it down but with no luck on the other NM.

Second time I found him I was headed to my second attempt of Carapace Combatants (Won it and wyvern earring dropped, 150-180k on Seraph when I only had 2k) my party killed it and once again no NM. Got more information on the NM this time and heard it was a good sword for a lower level.

Today I was bored while waiting for Full Moon 100% to do some more Carapace Combatant runs (Bad drops for me, good drops for my LS mate who came) I killed it solo. Never really having killed him solo I didn't realize that the other orc would pop right away with my claim already on him. I'm heading out of the area to check on Hundredscar and I see I'm taking damage for hits of 10-20 damage as 40WAR/20MNK. Lookie here, it's the NM. One hit with my horror voulge took him down to 2/3HP and he uses Mighty Strikes but whiffs on his only other attack.

Just something I noticed about the fight though, when I busted the Panzer I caught no links due too the other orcs being {Too weak} it seems they all turned to attack me. There's no linking with the Orcish Fighter that pops but the NM seems to call them all into action right away. Take care at lower levels, if the NM doesn't kill you and you didn't clear out the other orcs the links it brings will.

Later when my LS mates were ready for the BCNM we busted it again but only the Fighter popped. 1/4 total on the NM pop. Hope the info on the linking thing helps.

Okay, just to clear things up - you kill this in order to get the Chariotbuster Byakzak to spawn south part of (H-8) and its the Chariotbuster Byakzak that drops the Auriga Xiphos lv.19 rare/ex sword.

This was another one i found just after the update, it was just wandering around so i saw it, got my hopes up and...a fighter pops out of it's busted a$$

I was soloing the Orcish Grunts, Stonechuckers, and Neckchoppers as a lvl 19 taru NIN/BRD (casting a paeon after a battle to never need to actually /heal), and saw this fella pop up. Deciding to go ahead and give him a shot, I cleared out the mobs north of him, got to about 95% HP and 300% TP and pulled him with Requiem. The moment I started hitting him, I got a little worried. Each katana hit for only 15-20, with Minuet and Meat Chiefkabobs. I dropped Blade:Retsu for a measly 47 damage (the surrounding orcs took 100-140 damage around 100% TP), but I'll be damned if the orc didn't get paralyzed for a good 10-15 rounds. It also seemed to have pretty horrid accuracy.

I managed to drop a second Blade:Retsu for around the same damage, and we just kept chipping away at each other's HP. Unfortunately for me, he critical hit me the moment after my shadows left, and hit me with a Fire Arrow for 53 damage to finish me off. I had 88% TP and had it down to around 15% hp.

For having lvl 16 gear, brd subjob, and slightly underleveled katana skill when first starting the fight, it was really nowhere near as hard an enemy as other people experienced. Something as little as a haste or protect ii could have been enough to change the victor of the match.

Just a heads-up to anyone around level 20 with decent soloing potential (bst, smn, nin, pup). This NM is very possible to beat... not that you'd really want to for much other than bragging rights and decent exp...

I seen some say they are level 50 or this and that and died...i jsut killed him as a 42 thf/blm so either you are REAL unlucky or were at a different mob did not use 2 hour and with links did not go below 60% health

Oh my, never knew this stupid thing was a NM >< I just thought it was there to annoy people >_> I didnt fight it though i actually let a lvl 8 blm solo while i pl'd lol (37smn at time) and honestly it didnt seem to do much to the blm damage wasnt like rapage from what i noticed but it sure was fun watching the fight although the fight did take him about 15mins ^ ^;
but he told me he got good exp off it like 200+ not sure if he got a drop either it was quite awhile ago but hehe. Didnt notice any other nm spawning because i was training quite a few orcs for the blm to pick off one by one if it was in that mess it prolly got {Thunderspark} like the rest of everything when the blm got tired and left :P

Found it while looking for my Kazham key. 24WHM/10BLM at the time and LS told me not to do it. Did it anyways since I hadn't gotten key and didn't feel like doing it myself. Got him down to about half HP when I ran out of MP and had to start beating him with my stick. Got him down a bit more and a couple orcs linked up. Used 2hr and left him at a sliver of health before dying. Ran back up there and couldn't find it again... >.< Probably should've listened to my LS, but if I had been able to go longer without any orcs linking he would've died.

According to the information provided by Allakhazam, there appears to be no drops associated with this NM.

Is this true? I've killed this a few times also and have gotten no drop.... :(

thankfully he's never camped. Walked in took a snap shot, then killed it. left me 32 gil and a fighter whom i disposed of rather quickly.

I wen't up to the fort, Panzer spawned and I killed him.. (Orcish Fighter spawned) 65 mins later he spawned again, killed him. (Byakzak spawned)
