Lukahn's attack is countered by the Yuhtunga Mandragora. 1 of the Lukahn's shadow absorbs the damage and disappears.

The lukahns eh?

I lost 3 shadows that way, 2 normal attacks, and a counter.

I'm guessing this is a minor bug in names, but still, it gaves us a thought.. o_O

Mandys use an attack which poisons one member, Good idea NOT to poisona them as sleep will not affect poisoned playas, also, try not to camp to close to other ptys >< double sleeps can be a pain. hmm perhaps this is obvious

you most likely misread "Vorut's attack is countered by the Yuhtunga Mandragora. 1 of Vorut's shadows absorbs the damage and disappears."

You would think that these plant things would have the decency to at least drop some bags of seeds, but Earth Crystals and Two-Leaf (no three or four leaf) Mandagora buds are all I saw dropped from them in the hours I worked on it. I was unable to pickpocket anything from them either.

this things are simple until they use dream flower.
the only real danger are the smithy's who cause about 100 points a damage....they also seem to be attracted to BLM's so anyone who's a BLM look out!

I hate dream flower. Once it wasnt voked on tank, and casted dream flower, veryone cept wht mage fell asleep, then wht mage casted cure on itself, the mandragoria attack it and the wht mge died,

Always cast barsleepra... I've never had it work... but it might shorten the time you're asleep.

But here's the best trick. If the whm or someone w/ a whm sub is not asleep or wakes up. Immediately cast protectra/shellra/bar___ra and it will wake everyone up. It's one of those nice tricks I like to pass on to other whm's out there ^^

Oh yeah... I think the higher your mind the faster you wake up b/c I always seem to wake up before anyone else in the party...

That's a great idea... I tend to cast Barfira, as it's an almost instant cast... wakes everybody right up.

Got slept a lot there this weekend since the PTs were camping really close together. The PLD would have aggro, would cure me to wake me up, then I'd wake all else up.

I had my party try this. the whm cast barfira and we were all still snoozing. can anyone confirm that it works or not? Could they have "Fixed" this in a recent patch?

Officially debunking my own statement.

On inital use, Barfira seemed to be waking people up - on further use though it seems that they just happened to wake when the spell went off.

Barfira for sure does not wake all up, although at least some ra/ga spells do.

casting cure on them definately does

and the i seemed to find if i cast barsleep closer to when he tries to sleep party..the more members it doesnt affect,,,put probably a considence...worth a try tho

For the most part, yeah. The only other thing you'll see much of around Kazham is Goblin Smithies, and they like to eat little L24 adventurers for brekky with a nice cup of tea.

Not sure if this will ever be added, but I'm going to add this to all postings :)

Things the Yuhtunga Mandragora cast or readies:
- Head bunt
- Scream
- Leaf Dagger
- Dream Flower
- Wild Oats
- Photosynthesis

I'll start putting this stuff up on my site :)

It seems all Mandragoras can use those, but I thunk Yuhtunga Mandragora likes to use Dream Flower a LOT.

Yes, be sure that you have someone who can cast Barsleepra. It won't help all the time, but it can't hurt. And, in case you didn't know, Cure will wake someone up from sleep ;)

An excellent mob - cons far higher than its difficulty. Definitely recommended (once you can get to Kazham, of course). At lvl 31, about 2/3 con Tough, the rest Even.
